Helping the merc selection timeout issue.

I wonder if it’s possible to add a second button to the load screen of a map, instead of just ‘press any key to continue’ you could have a ‘Merc select lobby’ button too? This would drop you into the lobby as though you joined after the game had started, allowing you to select your mercs - with the 15 second delay penalty. I still find the time available after the map vote far too small, when it takes several seconds for the merc select UI to update. Would happily take the 15 second hit in a pub game instead of running around with a useless merc.

There is an obvious issue here that you could have seen the opposite team merc selections. But it’s nothing new. Disable it in competitive, where the map is already fixed, and there is plenty of time to change mercs. Job done.

Or even better get rid of the lobby and have the option to change merc loadouts at anytime during warm-up.

70% of the time I miss warm up. Old, ****ty PC :frowning:

Please add the ability to change between 5 mercs. Then you are pretty much assured of being able to switch to the class you need.

I kinda agree for public, though 5 is a bit too many i think.

You’re supposed to pick the classes which best suits your team. So, allowing this in competitive matches would be overkill.

Yeah, I think a selection of 3 is about right. Means you need to think about your selection, but, as ive said many times, there is not enough time to decide on a pub server between maps.

not your pC, mine aint a Sh!ty PC…
i miss it half the time as well…
get kicked back into lobby almost every time… with 2-3 seconds to spare…

its the game… want to say its the latest patch/update - this all started for me last week…

I think there are 2 things they can do to improve merc selection:

  1. faster UI response… at least for me the menu lag is the main reason I cannot easily switch mercs in lobby. Also, it isn’t even immediately apparent that you can switch mercs which may be contributing to people leaving after a match to switch up.

  2. The best thing they can do is have allow us to have premade teams of 3 that you can switch between, rather than having to set each merc individually. I think it would be still nice to tweak individual mercs but being able to change to a set on the fly would be invaluable. And I’d like to see a lot of team slot available, like 10+ because as new mercs are added, more slots will be needed.
