Hey I’m either blind daft or stupid, maybe all three, Any way What the heck are you using for your map editing ive like spent an hour searching Google, and ftp sites like filefront and all that but I cant seem to download it, I know It’s called like SD radiant or something =/ please help:)

(stealth6) #2

well actually most people use gtk radiant.
SD radiant is splashdamages version, but I don’t think many people use that.

gtk radiant has different versions:
1.3.8
1.4
1.5

1.4 and 1.5 are used the most I use the latest nightly of 1.5 but others prefer 1.4
link 1.5 nightlys:

latest version of 1.5:
http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/files/radiant/nightly/1.5/GtkRadiant-1.5.0-2007-04-26.msi

not sure where to find 1.4 version, but its posted quite alot on these forums, just need to ind the post

EDIT: here we go 1.4 link

(or check: http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16305 )

just a note, i used to use the nightly 1.5 and it really sucks, or at least, it very much didnt get my preference. the latest 1.5 is almost perfect though (now comparing to nightly, i dont want to engage in 1.5 vs 1.4); &installed an 1.4 only for entity merging recently.

I use the last nightly of 1.5 (26.04.07) and it IS almost perfect for me. Just need to get used to how it works. A bit different comparing to 1.4. Link.

(aaa3) #9

thats not the nightly but the latest. oops it looks like i missed 2 days diff…:S
and i also use the latest nightly of apr 26 :S
but i thought its no a nightly build, and i used an earlier “1.5” nightly one and it was really bad (lots of freezes, …) believe me

I’ve used different versions of 1.5.0 and I know what you are talking about. Some of the older ones were buggy and missing stuff. However I was able to communicate with the older versions, so I would still choose almost any version of 1.5.0 rather than 1.4.0.
