To whoever reads this, by curiosity or just because you were bored :
If you see any newbie around (oh and trust me, you will see a lot of newbies), don’t hesitate, teach them things !
This is not a formula of speech : I’m not telling you to hit them with a baseball bat until you extract their brain out of their head. Just, teach things to newbie you encounter at key moments. Be somewhat like “a second tutorial”. If you see a newbie forgetting something, acting wierdly and/or cluelessly, or ignoring some details : don’t get mad, don’t get upset, don’t even sound upset. Tell them.
For exemple, I got an EV downed on Chapel. As Fletcher I managed to quickly get the EV before everyone else. A Proxy and a Skyhammer joined for repairing it : I just explained them just after I finished it to let the EV alone if someone is already repairing it, because one is enough.
Why have I done that thread ? Well, because I saw this one : http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/11244/hate-speech#latest
There’s not a lot of people that could bring some hate on the battlefield, and I am pretty sure that this is old players towards new players. Not only such a behaviour is disgusting, but it also totally won’t help them to get better. They may also quit the game about it, and we definitely don’t want to loose a part of the new playerbase because some guys are acting like dicks (it’s the game does not find any people to play on it, say goodbye to DB folks !). Instead, tell them how to act from the start : they may learn the basics faster, and it’ll be much less painful for us, grumpy veterans !
Seriously : Teach. Them. Things. NICELY.
That’s all.
