HELP with SDRADIENT 1.3.8 editor for ET

(IX) #1

:banghead: Hey guys,
Now i’m not as good i’m sure as you guys, but i’ve been having problems going into look at a new map beginning.
I just got SDRadient 1.3.8 editor for ET…
I was using GTK 1.2.1 for RTCW
I cannot find the info_player_start within this editor and i must be doing something wrong because i cannot load my map through the game as i did before with RTCW…ie /sv_pure 0
/devmap “mymap”
It can never find the .bsp file so it will not load, so I can check the process
any help would be great and most appreciated…

i was wondering if there are any tuts on this new editor… i am feeling really stupid right now. :banghead:

 well i have to say i figured out some of the previous, but i now am able to open the map within the game , but when you push the letter L to spawn it freezes the screen and must use the task manager to get out of a unresponsive program…
any help here??
oh yeah should i save my bsp file to the main/maps folder in ET or in the folder ET test maps ??? HELP

Well since u want to play the map in Et and not the test, i suggest u put them in the etmain/maps folder

And look at the thread : Map Basic Requirements to see how u get the game going

No, you need to put in the mapcoordsmins and mapcoordsmaxs as described in the command map portion of the et mapping guide. You don’t actually need to make a command map, just put those keys in your worldspawn entity.

You can select the worldspawn entity by selecting any brush that isn’t part of some other entity. Then bring up the entity window with the n key. In that window you will see descriptions of the various allowed key/value pairs, and input areas to put in your own.

When a person is told what thread to read and still won’t then perhaps they don’t deserve much more help, lol.

You can lead a horse to water …

WELL, i am damn sorry i asked…
i appreciate the help and i have been going through the threads as directed but as i told you at the beginning i am not as smart as some of you guys… and was unsure…
just wanted to make sure… Mr. slippery jim

some people lke me use tuts that are pretty much spelled out for them
this is how i learned on 1.2.1 GTK
I already went through the search in the surface tuts just must have missed it…will continue to look…
:bash:
sorry to use this forum… i thought i would meet some understanding or rather not such smart ass folks who would know of some great tuts…

sorry for the inconvenience… i know it must’ve really been hard for you

by the way thanks thej you were most informative and iam slowly learning what i need… to the rest, remember…there are manuals but some people do not get it as fast as when they have a walk through tut

i will check back from time to time but will never use this forum again…i’ll go back to my other sources
