ok I would like to make a single texure as a jungle canopy built into a skybox.
from what I have read so far in the shader manual I can set the cloud height to a specified height
From the Manual:
<cloudheight> controls apparent curvature of the cloud layers - lower numbers mean more curvature (and thus more distortion at the horizons). Higher height values create “flatter” skies with less horizon distortion. Think of height as the radius of a sphere on which the clouds are mapped. Good ranges are 64 to 256. The default value is 128.
ok so my plan is to make a texture that does not move of course but would look like it is maybe 30 yards up above the players head like a jungle canopy .
or if it’s working use a near box .
from the shader manual:
<nearbox> Specified as farbox, to be alpha blended ontop of the clouds. This has not be tested in a long time, so it probably doesn’t actually work. Set to “-” to ignore…
I think with the right texture and the right tess size this should work no?.
but I deffinetly need more info on this.
has it been done already?
and if so where can I see it.?
or should I just use a portal sky?
