Help Please!!!!!!

I am having a really strange problem. I have constructed a test map which compiles with no problem. When I start up ET to test it, and type “/sv_pure 0”, “/g_gametype 2”, and “/devmap room3” (room3 is the map), I get the connection screen and a message that says “Connecting to localhost”, “Awaiting challenge…0” (the normal loading screen).

However, that’s as far as it goes. Nothing happens. I have compiled and test several maps so far and they have always loaded fine, but today ET has stopped at the “Awaiting challenge…0” and just sits there forever. What has happened here? I reinstalled both ET and Radiant and it didn’t help. I can’t understand why ET suddenly stopped working…I didn’t change anything. BTW, ET still connects to outside games just fine. PLEASE HELP!!

Also, per my previous post, anyone have any idea why I’m not seeing models in the editor? Are you supposed to see only an empty wireframe box when you add a model? I still can’t get one to show up in the compiled map. Am I the only one having these problems? :bored:

Thanks!

OK, figured out the model problem but I guess that’s secondary seeing as how I’m still completely stuck with the above ET stall. I guess I’m learning…

Chances are it’s the usual shitty beyond belief too many pk3 files bug.
Happens to us lot a lot since by their nature mappers are more likely to play customs.

Go into your etmain/ and remove as many (not necessarily delete, just move to another folder) pk3 files as you can, MAKING SURE TO KEEP THE OFFICIAL ONES - sorry, had to make that clear

Yep, it was. I sorted through some old threads and found it…I never would’ve guessed that would be a problem, but whatever. Thanks for the help.
