Help me find models.

Here’s some models that were in models/mapobjects/toolshed in RTCW.

These pics where taken in ET.

So… where are they? Are they in models/mapobjects/ somewhere and I’m blind?

If they aren’t in ET anywhere, can we pull them from RTCW and use them?

There’s other ones too, like tools and shovel which are missing… the skins are there, just not the model :confused:

There are a bunch of models in the game that arent anywhere in the models directory… :frowning:

And no, i dont think you are allowed to take rtcw models and put them in ET (i asked about that a while ago, and was told not to).

That are models from RtCW…you may not take this models/textures (or anything else) from the RtCW-Game into Enemy Territory
…copyright reasons! :disgust:

Those models were probably .ase models and got compiled into the map so there was no need to include them in the pak file.

Since those models were in ET you can theoretically use them in your maps without breaking any copyright rules (bunch of stifs). But you can still get those models from the ET maps. This is very easy. All you do is decompile the map with q3map2 and then either save those model brushes as prefabs or just copy and paste them into your map. It should work out without a problem. Though I’m not sure if they’ll preserve the textures (some models don’t).

P.S.
You’re getting 17fps in that one screenshot? I know that because of the window you can see outside but that’s still pretty low. Maybe time for upgrade?

Well, they’re md3s from RTCW… but yes, they got compiled into the map. But you’d think they’d be included with the mapping tools for everyone to use :confused:

I asked digibob on IRC, and he says he doesn’t think there would be a problem using them since SD used them. I could decompile, but the only thing saved from a decompile of a model is the clipping, and that’s only if they set the model’s spawnflags to 2.

Yeah… it is time for an upgrade… the integrated geforce 2 is wearing thin. Anyone wanna start a New-gfx-card-for-Hummer fund?

This site was created by a very talented model maker. There may be some models there that are usable with ET. Alot were made for a Quake 3 mod called UrbanTerror. If you dont see what you need just contact him and he can make whatever you want.

For things like the genrator that are used by SD in the maps, just use the md3/textures from RTCW. It’s in ET so it has been cleared for use and so will not violate copyright issues. Of course, when it is in the final bsp it is simply brushes anyway, so how it came to be there (md3 or decompiled brushwork) is irrelavent.
