help!!can't make the md3 head show!!!

help!
i can’t get the head to show in the game,what am i doing wrong?
i got the characters file in characters emperate\axis:

characterDef
{
	skin			"fieldops"

	mesh			"models/players/temperate/axis/fieldops/body.mdm"

	animationscript		"animations/scripts/human_base.script"

what’s wrong?

check if the source is 100% correct, i had problems with heads dissapering before, becaus i used wrong source, if not then check the skins (jpg,tgas) and see if they are not rpg or if they got wrong size (256, 512etc)

the skin file is ok
and the md3 fil is a converted mdc so that shouldn’t really be a problem should it?

Screenshot of the missing head?
Are there any red/blue/green lines or is it completley missing?
What says the console?

Or do you messed up the .skin file for the head?

“tag_head” - what is ti good for? behind it is nothing.
“h_head” - insert a space between , and the path.

Are the pathes to the textures correct? In “h_head” is no “hud” in the path, but two times “players”.

Try this one:

head, "models/players/hud/zom_head1.tga"
h_head, "models/players/hud/zom_head1.tga"

Thought more work is needed to fix it.

Do you plan to add an alpha-channel to the body-texture to make the black parts disappar?

As a small suggestion I would remove for the Terminators the “hudheadanims” from the character definition (except the covert ops).
You know from the movies, you can shoot a T-1000 with a pumpgun in the chest and he still has the same neutral face.

hmm…yeah maybe that would be an idea…yes I will try the alpha-channel…but I not yet satisfied with the body…you see, the head now looks great in-game but the body…white and grey…should be more chrome like the head…
so…still work todo…by the way the covert ops will be the female Tx…that will be cool or what?
but as i am newbie to all this…it takes time…lol
have to straighten the hair on the female head…not easy when you’re not used too 3d programs at all…
but we’re getting there

I’ve seen female covert in some server. It was awful, looked like a rat. The thing was like half of the size as other, and it felt awfully hard to hit her, even tho they probably didn’t resize the hitboxes. If you make it, keep them same size as the normal player.

think she’s the same size…looks like it …lol :smiley:
but i’m not quite happy with the head and not with the skin just yet…but i am trying to make things ready for when we start the new server:wink:
