HELP!!!!!! Before I rip out the rest of my hair!!

I’ve read, I’ve studied tutorials, I’ve searched the forums and still my whole comp FREEZE’S and I have to restart by the power switch, which I hate doing, when I try to open the limbo menu. Here’s what I’ve done so far…

-Made the hollow box.
-Set the blue/red spawn points. Selected both and set the invuln., spawn thingies.
-Set info_deathmatch thing
-Set an Objective thing. Selected and set it for Allied/Axis
-Did the min/max coords to 64 over(assuming there X Y and not Z X. The tutorials say TOP and BOTTOM corners, but then says X Y in the example and that would be SIDE to SIDE)
-Compiled and ran it fine (ie., I can fly around spectator mode while the match timer ticks down) doing the “/devmap” thing but as soon as I go to Limbo it locks up.

 Well, thats it.  Going to try on more thing, then start  :banghead:  if it doesn't work.  Thanx for any help.

Well, I did check to see if it was exactly square, and it wasn’t. I fixed ti but I still have the same results with limbo. Plz, any suggestions?

do you have two objectives one axis, and one allied?

Not enough info to determine what you are doing wrong.

Make sure that the mapcoordsmins and mapcoordsmaxs is slightly larger than your “hollow box”. You determine the coordinates by looking at the TOP view only. Mapcoordsmins is the coordinates in the top left of the box and the mapcoordsmaxs in bottom right. Again they must be slightly larger than your “hollow box”.

In Worldspawn the information should not be entered with commas. ie mapcoordsmins -5120 5120 (-5120,5120 is wrong with a comma).

The mapcoords are right, i’ve double checked em to make sure. No commas, but how much larger can the coords be? It was easiest for me to just go by the 64 th units becuase my box’s lower left hand corner is locted on 0,0. But this makes my mapcoords box nearly twice as big as my hollow box. As for the objective, I have one, and checked and its set for both Allied and Axis. I didn’t think this mattered becuase aren’t there dual objectives in game(fix the pump/destroy the pump. Or is that treated differently)? Thanx for the help so far.

Does your map run if you remove your *.script?

I had this problem, the game would freeze when in limbo mode but not because of the map but because of a script error.

Worth a try.

how do I find and remove my *.script? Lol, I didn’t even realize there was one.

Mapping regulars: “Can you say NooB?”

I think you need two objectives one set to axis the othe set to allied…

Nope no objectives needed. My (beta) map runs fine without objectives (but also with objectives :D). Maybe try to set you
mapcoordsmaxs 5000 -5000
mapcoordsmins -5000 5000
Maybe this helps, this is exact a square and better to big then to small :slight_smile:
(Works good with my map anyway, so i think it works with you too :))

OMG, I just oockied all over myself, thanx guys!! I set the objective to just Allied, then went ahead and set the mapcoords to (-5000, 5000), (5000, -5000) and it worked :smiley:

P.S. this :banana: is kinda creepy lol.
