With the purchase of a nice new 21 inch monitor and the slacking of work somewhat, I am finding time to map again. Hurrah I hear you (probably) shout \o/
So here’s some progress shots on the way to a final version of Helmsdeep (MT is also progressing, but nothing worth screenshotting).
These are roughly how the caves will end up style-wise (note they are not fully blended nor do they have the glittering effect yet visible briefly in the previous version).
Colouring is fake, some photoshop stuff that actually looks grim, but at least shows the detail.
But what do you care? On with the show!
The weak tunnel area. A bit more cover, a bit more rocky ground.
Also the weak tunnel gate itself is missing, but it will be there I promise 

Looking down the tunnel from Axis cave spawn to the main cave. What’s that ahead? A split in routes? Why yes I think it is. Dunno what the corrupt crap in the bottom left is - please ignore.

Crystals everywhere. They provide cover, and are at least ‘in theme’. Some are pretty damn massive too!

You all know this area. 'Nuff said.

Crystals and rocks provide more cover in the main area. Top middle yellow grid reminds me which bits I haven’t textured yet 

What Axis must get past. Hopefully the cover will benefit Axis slightly more than Allies, but either way it’s not going to be just a straight shoot-out with MG42s any more.
