Heavy Snow

(DutyCalls) #1

I’m interested in adding some heavy snow (like a blizzard) to my map.

Is this possible and if so can someone tell me what values to put for the atmosphere key?

Thaks.

Trial and error, http://wiki.splashdamage.com/index.php/Environmental_Effects

have fun.

Already tried that.
I tried changing all sorts of combinations but I didn’t see any change in the snow.

Maybe I’m not using the correct combinations?

Could someone explain what each of the values will do to the snow?

Hi!

Try to change :
raindrop.tga
snowflake.tga

thats not a good idea as it’ll be a global change and wherever it is uploaded to (server) it’ll change the snow/rain on every map. Unless you only want to make it for local projects.
When I once tried different combinations of values I found the effect to be quite limited, so I am not sure if it is possible to get a blizzard-like snowstorm with it.

how about remap shader? then it’s only for that map i think…

(FireFly) #7

Yup, If you use remapshader inside your map script you will not mess up any of the stock shaders on the server.

The rain shader can be found at etmain/scripts/gfx_misc.shader : gfx/misc/raindrop

The snow shader can be found at etmain/scripts/gfx_misc.shader : gfx/misc/snow
