The fact that Heavy Weapons like the EZ-Nade and Gotlung lack the ability to add attachments, suggests that they should be enormously effective on their own and strike fear into other player’s eyes. And although they can be good in the right hands, compared to a weapon like the Carb-9, or practically any SMG for that matter, this simply isn’t the case.
Ideas I like for balancing Heavies are:
[ul]
[li]- Heavies cannot be knocked down by slide tackles or melee attacks or at least not knocked down by Lights.[/li][li]- Melee attacks by Heavies deal the most damage or cause a longer knockdown period[/li][li]- Heavy weapons need to be tweaked further to truly feel like Heavy weapons. They should be devastating, almost overpowered and unfair, to make up for the Heavies shortcomings, (speed and mobility) which makes them easy targets and not a viable body type choice for many players.[/li][li]- If Heavy weapons are not tweaked, than they need to be balanced against the other body types in other ways - by either giving them a monstrous amount more health or increasing their speed.[/li][li]- Bring back original ideas that got cut, like giving Heavies the most Supply Meter than any other body type. Although this doesn’t really help balance them in a combat role, it helps to at least establish them as a better choose for support roles - something Heavies should excel at in the first place.[/li][/ul]
