I have to be honest, this thing needs a total rework.
If I get hit for 10 damage, the amount of blood and screen shake leads me to believe I am about to die.
If I get hit for 90 damage, I can’t tell the difference from ten, leading me to, a lot of times, falsely believing I am still in a good enough condition to fight.
Now this is just the red blood borders on the edges of the screen. If I actually want to know my current health, I have to look at my health bar, which is:
A) Terribly placed, and very hard to look at without getting shot or even dying
B) Incredibly small, it’s actually just a damn bar, why can’t it be a large thing that is easy to look at and instantly get an idea of current HP, and example being TF2’s very large health cross, that changes to red if you’re low health. In DIrty Bomb, it is a small bar, that doesn’t flash until you’re pretty critical.
What I’m trying to say is that this game doesn’t have very good visual communication when it comes to current health status. If the devs added in HUD customizing or maybe even community custom HUDs, then it wouldn’t be an issue.
Does anybody else feel this way, or am I alone on this?
