Headshots and Revive

(SmokeCheeba) #1

They should not go together. In a game like this, the enemy you just killed can be right back in the fight with a medic near by. I suggest that having killed them with a headshot, it should force death and for them to only come back in the next wave.

I’ve seen on occasion where one team kills several enemies, a few with headshots, then while they’re reloading a medic revives EVERY fallen enemy. We should get the benefit of having those we just killed with a headshot NOT being able pop right back up into the fight.

Not sure if its been discussed so far, search features rarely help.

I agree, doesnt really make sense to get back up after getting domed

I think this would be an interesting idea. I can’t say it’s good or bad, but it’s VERY interesting and I for one would like to see it played out.

(Angrim) #4

That would be terrible. Medics would be next to useless against good enemies - especially in competitive games.

The situation you described is your own fault. If you don’t want the enemy medic to just revive the guy you just downed, kill him before the medic can reach him or go for the medic first next time.

It’s not the game mechanic that is broken but your style of playing. Shoot medics first and make sure they are gibbed.

Competitive objective based multiplayer 101 lesson 3.

Its not like Im just sitting there watching, this game is fast paced and in close-quarters. Ignoring other targets just to kill the medics first doesnt work out.

The medic doesnt even need to get that close to revive them, just to pop out of cover hit F a few feet away then run back. At least in W;ET the medic had to get right ontop and stick a needle into them…you have a much easier time killing them.

Plus the fact that the medic class needs a class limit on it, usually everyone is medic and you cant kill them all. So the main point still remains valid.

(Linsolv) #7

Here’s a thought: gib the bodies.

(SmokeCheeba) #8

Or at least make it easier to kill them when they’re down. I mean it takes just as many bullets to kill them AFTER they’ve been downed then to down them in the first place.

(Slade05) #9

Would make an interesting testing case, actually.

MAG has the system where any explosion or headshot will cause an automatic bleed out. I found this to be more balanced, because if I didn’t want Joe Blow getting back up, I’d frag out his position or score a headshot.

And yes you should aim for the medic first, but it doesn’t ALWAYS happen to turn out that way, sometimes you are forced to deal with whoever is in front of you.

(TheBIG_Lebowski) #11

Yes agree very much. Headshot should equal 100% death. No revive from a headshot is a must.

(Hyrage) #12

It’s not a realistic game… just a game. It already works well.

The first rule in RTCW/ET, after you kill someone, gib the body.
The second rule in RTCW/ET, after you kill someone … GIB THE BODY!

Honestly! I can still hear my teammates as they shouting on ventrillo after a bigger fight: GIB GIB GIB.

If you are in range, gib them with melee attack.

Instead of acting like a game designer, just gib the bodies. Killing 3 or 4 people doesn’t matter, because a medic pops up, revives them all, and you didn’t do anything, just a half job.

No, this goes against ET.

Horrible idea from a bad kid, is a horrible idea from a bad kid.

(Whydmer) #15

Nope, don’t like the idea, mainly because when I get killed by a headshot, I want a chance to be revived.

Its called a game mechanic. not shooting for realism here. adapt.

Cod baby alert!

(SmokeCheeba) #17

 at the 14 year olds screaming “COD kiddies”…

I’ve only liked the original CoD and UO, before it was ruined by consoles. So, I;m not a CoD fanboy…they’re terrible games.

I’m just stating some balance issues, and honestly headshots are about 15-20% of all kills. Worst case you have to wait the 15 seconds to respawn…whoopdedoo, if thats too much of a problem for you, then we see who the real babies are.

(S0und_) #18

Shooting one headshot can be luck. Shooting 2 headshot to someone, that’s more then luck. Shooting 3 HS to someone who is still alive somehow?: you are playing ET and 1v1 against a lvl4 medic

I liked The Mountain Goats before he sold out and started recording in a STUDIO. Ugh. Sellout. Just like Call of Duty.
