Have you guys ever gotten a friend to play Brink with you?

What I mean by this is that if they purchased the game, you told them to get back into it.

I have a funny story to tell about it. So my friend wants to do a 1v1 and he sets up the game while I’m finishing up the mission. I join and it’s Resort. I’m equipped as an Operative at the beginning of the game and he, having never really played it, is a Soldier. He doesn’t really know how to throw grenades and certainly not Molotovs. So I set up at the top of the stairs (camping, I know) near the pillar, which he has to plant a charge on. The first time, he kills me and plants a charge. I quickly go Engy and take him out, defusing it. Then I go back to the stairs, plant a mine next to the pillar, and set a turret up upstairs + an MG nest. Every time he comes in, I incapacitate him with the FRKN. So there’s a minute left and I say, “Here. I’ll let you plant the charge.” I remove my turret from the area where I had placed it so it doesn’t shoot him. I look around, seeing him go to the charge, begin to plant . . . and suddenly a marker appears on my screen. “Landmine +52!”

That was the end of the game. I probably should have taken it easy on him but whatever.

Harsh, bro. Harsh.

That’s one N00b who ain’t coming back.

Well, he actually didn’t mind. It was sorta a wakeup call for him since he normally plays MW2 and is pretty good at it. We played some MP games later but he seems to enjoy the game still.

He just never plays it between MW2 and BO.
He even told a friend he was playing it just cause of the DLC.

It is definitely not MW2! CoD players find it a hard adjustment at first. I should know.

I was a PS3 BlOps player that became an X360 Brink luva…

See, Brink was one of my pickups because Mature games are offlimits for me. I have friends who are my age that play Call of Duty, Halo, etc. I’m pretty sure one of my friends played Manhunt 2.

A FPS player who sticks to the rules of censorship and classification!?!

You are a rare find, mate! I’m impressed.

so amusing, killing people is ok but there better not be any bad language

just like the USA, see shhoting live on the news but if someone lets a nipple out its outrage! crazy bunch

I cant even remember a single post crying about a blood patch… I like this forum

Well, it’s my parents, not me. I have played Reach at friend’s houses because my parents don’t mind that as much. I just don’t own the games. The only game rated M I own is Halo Waypoint.

how old are you out of curiosity?

btw - im not grooming you!

I tried to get my friend to play it but he has a download cap at home so getting the game would of pretty much killed him for the rest of the month. I was going to whack it on a mem stick so he didn’t have to download but other plans got in the way.

I don’t think it was really his game either way as a cod player you tend to find its just about yourself and not the team which is what Brink is all about. I think not seeing his K/D would of pissed him off the most though.

Well I got someone to get the game they played it for a couple days but then went back to cod

I got 8 of my friends to try Brink. Only two of them liked it. The rest went back to either Bad Company 2 or Black Ops. Their biggest complaint was that they just wanted to kill and not have to do all the teamwork stuff. Also, the Battlefield guys like tanks and copters. Oh well.

I’ve made a bunch of XBL friends (many from here) who like Brink. Any night of the week, there’s someone in my friends list online playing Brink.

(TruGamer97) #14

Yeah not only that I got a good amount of people to be interested into getting brink but they never did :frowning:

(nephandys) #15

I got like 6 people besides myself to play. Only maybe 2 besides me still do.

(ZionDelhamorte) #16

I got my friend to try it on pc but he said it kept crashing s he stopped trying… i tried again since the dlc but he wont even second look it…I feel bad for getting him to like Battlefield…

(kronus126) #17

My family was visiting for the week, I let my brother play it. The first thing hes gonna do when he gets home is buy it.

(BROTOX) #18

I live on the west coast and I play with my friend in Boston. My co-worker also said he is switching to Brink on PS3 but he is kind of a flake so I’m not holding my breath for him.

They still do okay with the team work stuff in BFBC2, but if you wanna be a lone sniper, you can do and be successful in BF series.
