I unfortunately am in the position that my disc has become damaged in the inner ring, so to prevent further damage and it splintering off in my Xbox, I have decided to retire my copy. So I had a thought, if there’s anyone out there who is tired of their game and doesn’t want their copy anymore, instead of trading it in to GameStop and getting like $2.50 in store credit only, maybe they can do a service for a fellow gamer? So if you don’t want your 360 copy, and don’t care about losing the couple dollars trade-in credit, please let me know.
Hate Brink? Want to throw your copy in the trash? Look here first!
Yeah, the inner box ring on newer games is too tight and pressing down cracks the disks. So I don’t use the box after I buy a game any more, I instead get a CD Storage case and slip the game manual and game in there. It consolidates your collection into easy access, and eliminates the need for DVD shelves. Food for thought.
Craigslist my friend. I just checked in Seattle and there are a handful of people selling at either “name your offer” or $25. If you tell the $25 people that Brink is now $24 new and $18 used on amazon, they’ll prolly lower down to $10.
That is actually a really good idea. How do you get the manual in a CD case?
slip the manual into the sleeve, then slide the disk over the manual. Just get one like this.

OR you could pay $10 bucks and become a member of Gamestop Rewards. They will replace a damaged Game disk with one that is not damaged once you are a club member. Gamecrazy was great about that. Replace a broken or scratched disk no questions asked.

Ah ok. Not that it matters too much, because I only read a game manual once if at all, so I won’t be too worried if I can’t keep those safe. One more question, do you notice any scratches from sliding in/out of a CD case?
No, the sleeves are actually more gentle to the disks than the case which gets dirt or dust flakes in inside. Because when you slide them out of the sleeves, it is a special fabric that protects the disk. If you get this wide one I pictured above, you can put the manual in the bottom sleeve, and the game disk in the top sleeve if you are worried. But I have found that this is the best way to keep the disks safe. Sometimes when you leave a game in the game box and its not secure, it gets serious scratches from the hard plastic.
Well, I’m convinced. The CD case will also save me so much room in my backpack when I want to take my games with me somewhere. And I can have all of them with me at once.
As for all the suggestions on how to replace the game cheaply, I’m a little cash-strapped right now (I don’t even have $10 I can use), hence the topic. I just wanted to see if any of the people who posted on these forums about never wanting to play this game again felt charitable. Otherwise I’m going to have to wait a month before I can look into replacing my game myself. I do have other games to keep me occupied, but Agent of Change just came out, and I haven’t got to try half of the new abilities.
EDIT: I still appreciate the suggestions, and thanks Wolf and Sin for the help.
