Has someone already done the recycle event maths?

If so, where can I find it?

Looking for the most efficient use of recycle / craft for fragments. Credits aren’t really an issue for me as I’ve got 300k stockpiled.

I just want to increase my fragment stock out of the 100+ cards I’m waiting on recycling.

Do it by yourself? There isn’t really some difficult math, if you don’t go to school anymore its good way to get rid of the rust

I’m just lazy and don’t want to reinvent the wheel. If it’s already been done. No need to do it over.

Since progression (lower rarity -> higher rarity) is very costly, I suggest the following:

  1. Get any missing loadouts in Bronze, even for mercs you don’t play often
  2. With the rest of credits/fragments - pick a rarity and stick with it. Recycle unwanted until out of credits or fragments.

There won’t be a better occasion for crafting. If the cost will ever be adjusted in the future (not likely), probably it won’t be better than this.

Personally I have 2 crapy Cobalts that will be worth about 3 cents whenever crafting arrives so they’re going into the grinder, along with another Cobalt duplicate. TLDR: my luck with Cobalts suck :frowning:

@ArsonistCow would be your man.

I believe he did math when there weren’t concrete numbers given, only the 20% figure. Given his propensity to spreadsheet all the math, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has updated calculations for everything.

I’m willing to do some math for you, just got off work, but I’m slightly confused as to your goals…

Are you trying to get a collection of cards in general? Any specific rarity? Or are you going for the best loadout for each merc or something?

When you say that you’re looking for the most efficient use of recycle/craft for fragments I’m not sure what you’re wanting to do. Especially since you say that you want to increase your fragment stock. Makes me think you just want to have thousands of fragments.
:warning:

Unlike stories, math I can do in my sleep. Especially this easy math.

You can find the numbers here and [url=“http://forums.dirtybomb.nexon.net/discussion/31242/a-few-words-and-numbers-on-loadout-card-crafting-recycling/p1”]here

Since recycling currently does not cost you anything and the up coming event gives you the most fragments for your cards currently, the most efficient time to recycle your cards would be then.

As far as crafting is concerned, it depends on what your current fragment count is and what rarities you have in those 100 plus cards.

Unless you have a large amount of bronzes and some silvers and golds in that 100 plus cards I doubt you will have enough to make a cobalt with those 100 cards alone and will need to buy cases.
A gold should be possible.
Multiple silvers could be made.
Even more bronzes than silvers could also be made.

If you are looking to increase your card collection making bronzes during this event would be the best way to go in my opinion. Just be mindful that it will cost more to change the rarities later.

If you wish to make the highest rarity card you can make you should be able to make 1 gold in theory with the information you have given.

More information is needed in order to provide a more accurate solution for you. This is an optimization problem dependent on your current fragments and what cards you wish to recycle. Also it depends really on what your goal is.

I do have to advise caution if you look at the math of ArsonistCow. From my experience with their math, they do not always follow the constraints required by the systems they are doing the math for. To me that means their math does provide as accurate an answer as one that does follow the constraints.

Any way hope that all helps some how.

If you look at the exchanges for the upcoming event, you actually can “make” fragments while spending credits. The only level that is 1-1 is cobalt.

Just wondering if anyone ran the effiency (spelling) numbers.

Oh, you mean the highest fragment gain to credit cost ratio.

Give me a few minutes.

EDIT:
Efficiency calculated by dividing the difference in fragments of crafting and recycling (during the event) by the credit cost to craft. (Eff. = [recycle-craft]/credits, units of fragment per credit) Cobalt and Lead exempted because no fragments can be created and can’t be crafted, respectively.

Rarity: Efficiency (rounded to 4 decimal places)
Iron: 0.0400
Bronze: 0.0233
Silver: 0.0220
Gold: 0.0268

Here’s another way to look at those, the credit cost of making a single fragment (1/Efficiency):
Rarity: Cost for 1 Fragment (rounded to one’s place)
Iron: 25
Bronze: 43
Silver: 46
Gold: 37

Compare this to a standard equipment case, assuming a cost of 1000 credits and you recycle whatever is in it:
(same rounding rules as above)
During event:
Expected Fragments: 80.425
Efficiency: 0.0804
Cost per Fragment: 12
Normal:
Expected Fragments: 65.06
Efficiency: 0.0651
Cost per Fragment: 15

Cases will be twice as good as trying to make fragments during the event, unless there is an unannounced credit cost reduction coming.

Oh, sorry. I’m not too active on these forums. Here’s my post on the crafting week economy.
