Has anyone made a successful team shuffle yet?

(melancholyMural) #1

Honest to god question. It seems like every time i request a shuffle it gets declined to oblivion since people are more insistent on stomping players to their base instead of having an actual match. Can we get like a 60% vote with a minimum of 3 yes votes or something? (or at least something that’d make team shuffle easier). Splash damage did a decent job at the vote kick from what I’ve seen, so I don’t see why they can’t get a realistically working shuffle system in either.

Also, if any of you are worried about last minute team shuffling, can’t we just have it such that you can shuffle at the last 3 minutes? These minute things aren’t hard to code devs. Pls.

Nope, never seen it work. Mostly I see it pop up at the start of the match, and anyhow, how does the team shuffle even work when no one has a score?

(Backuplight) #3

Shuffle pretty much relies on people being extremely nice about it - most times I see people want a shuffle are when they are getting destroyed (be it skill or unequal numbers), or they got wrecked last round. If numbers are unequal and nobody has manually swapped, chances are they don’t give a shit about team balance, and so no shuffle. If you’re getting destroyed, the game is usually well underway, so nobody wants to shuffle. If you’re right at the start of the game, teams generally aren’t exactly the same as the last round, so… no shuffle.

I pretty much never expect to see a shuffle actually succeed.

It’s extremely hard to get people to vote for a shuffle if they are currently on the winning side simply due to the mission system. It’s hard to blame people for wanting to finish out their missions without getting teams all thrown around.

I wouldn’t mind a change to the vote system but I’m not sure it will help much due to the issue I cited.
It’s extremely hard to get people to vote for a shuffle if they are currently on the winning side simply due to the mission system.
Ever since the secondary objective mission was added, it’s also incredibly hard to get them to vote for a map that isn’t Underground

I’m not even sure what the current criteria of the system is, since I assume it works on the same principle as vote kicking - which never seems to go through. Both systems could use improving, though I think you’re right in that it probably won’t matter.

Uhm…What? I don’t understand threads title. What is this…I don’t have it in my…What is this ominous “successful team shuffle”?

(Amerika) #7

Yeah. I wish they would simply change that to “get any objective” instead of just secondary ones. Skipping out on doing the primary objectives to instead go get inconsequential secondary ones isn’t a great thing. Watching the teams only engineer skip ahead to build the ramp to the MG on chapel instead of repairing the EV is pretty common these days. If it was changed to all objectives people would play normal…except they might actually go harder for objectives.

(ludicrousBlast) #8

I have had it happen once. Twas a miracle, we were getting spawncamped.

(Monty) #9

A moment ago I saw Sparks do the exact same thing.

And personally, whenever I get those secondary objective missions, I cancel them. But yeah, it would be better if those were for all objectives, and you would get mission progess whenever you get the experience reward for an objective.

But back to the topic at hand! (Bad moderator, bad, for derailing topic.)

-10 DKP for me.

(avidCow) #11

I’ve never seen it. I’ve never seen any vote succeed.

(Conqelson) #12

Never.

Vote Kicking and Team Shuffling rarely happen b/c the majority of individuals who play this game would rather win and utterly destroy the opposing team than challenge themselves to a fair match. Also its an excuse to say “REKT, EZZZZZ etc…” just get on the nerves of other players cause its really enjoyable to see someone else angry and helpless.

Personally I don’t really mind tho since I usually just leave games where teams complete the first objective within the min.

(Sinee) #14

I’ve never seen it work. I assumed it just was a bugged part of beta that it was always unsuccessful. I’m actually shocked it’s supposed to do something… I’ve played hundreds of hours and have no idea what a successful shuffle is like.

(Utherix) #15

Kicking and shuffling votes don’t work at all right now even when they get enough votes to pass.

(Yes) #16

Yeah, just had a 3-1 vote to kick a cheater, there were only 5 people on our team and the blue bar was full but it still didn’t kick him. Voting is completely fucked atm.

Maybe they could change it to percentage, instead of needing a certain number of votes over the no’s.

(Dirmagnos) #18

Blue bar represent time left till end of vote, not its success rate.

(Yes) #19

No, it’s not time left.

(GhostEntity) #20

@melancholyMural I just posted this in a similarish thread. You’re right, it never happens.
