Has anyone ever thought?

Has anyone ever thought of turning wolfenstine into a RPG. I mean think of the maps, city in the wild (there is a city in the middle in there you cant fight or the gaurds will kill you (AI) but outside there is a huge wilderness where killing is alowed. The only problem I can see is to making no teams (or we would have to many X has been teamkilled by Y.)

i could see something like that as useful, if there was a point system to win the game, and ai would control citizens. either team cannot hurt or kill innocents and bystanders, and to have ai control them to run around and take cover would be a good idea. could also be good for a hostage type of thing… bur for what kind of mod, i don’t know. maybe an urban terror type of thing.

The problem though is actually creating a “huge wilderness” which the engine can handle fast enough.

Thinking about it is one thing, actually coming up with a good concept that would work with the engine is a completely different thing. :slight_smile:
What you described sounds doable, but also not that much fun… So you basically just have a city to buy stuff and outside you have deathmatch with leveling? What would be so great about that (it must be great, otherwise it’s not worth the huge effort :)).

well, imagine a vaste land with bots. The further away from the main town you get, the harder it is to survive those darn bots. Then there is a rumour: There is something special, beyond the bots. Suddenly it becomes a test: Who (what gang of players) can out-manouver/kill the bots and reach this El Dorado?

It would be a RPG as well because for example if X bot was in the shape of a dragon you knew you had to kill 100 pepole for Mr Y to give you his mystic dragon slaying weapon. Also there could be several weapons you need to buy or you need to do somehting special to acheive (for example)

I need to get this sword to my brother out in the wilderness can you take it to him?

Ok thank you very much here is the sword, but there is one problem he is in a cave with a dragon as long as you dont attack the dragon you should be OK.

You get to the hut give the dude the sword and he gets toasted by the dragon and the dragon steps onto the sword and starts attacking you.

If you lose
You are ingured badly and wake up in the hospital (spawn point)

If you win
You pick up the sword and say “well I guess this is mine now”
