Is there any plans to make a Hardcore mode? by this I mean things like no health regen, no mini map, no seeing others health (even if your a medic) and just all round more skill based play. I don’t know if its intended to be added, and I’ve heard that they don’t plan on releasing private servers any time soon, and I think a mode like this would be interesting and allow a more interesting competitive play. also, what suggestions would you have for a Hardcore mode?
Hardcore mode
No current plans for this as far as I know, and doesn’t sound particularly likely either.
Nice suggestion though, but I can’t see it being overly popular - not really sure of the purpose it would serve in a game like DB, especially the:
That would completely destroy the medic classes.
I REALLY despise those modes in games. The word “hardcore” does not fit either because making it much easier to track, shoot and kill somebody is anything but “hard”. It also doesn’t promote more skillful play. It promotes sitting somewhere and shooting people and having an easier go at it than the regular game allows. It lowers the skill ceiling and raises the skill floor in this type of mode. I know some people really enjoy that…it’s why CoD got so popular (high RoF and accurate weapons with really low TTK to allow players to feel better/more powerful). It’s just not for me and I’d prefer it never be an option with Dirty Bomb as it takes away a lot of what is good and different about the gunplay in this game.
I also have a long history of getting myself banned from just about every “hardcore” server in most every game that has it which makes me dislike the mode/mod even more.
I know this post will probably tick a few people off but that is my honest opinion and feelings on the mode and it’s backed up by years and years of playing games that have the mode/mod.
You know what it’ll be like, we have to stop to shoot our guns without having a shit ton of spread, only one person has the bomb per wave, and spawns waves are 60 seconds long.
Fuck dat shit bitch
Hardcore? ARMA, Red Orchestra and Rising Storm are right around the corner mate.
I’m assuming that by more skillful you meant to say less skillful? Surely!
Don’t be so sure about that. It makes the game more CoD like. A common complaint among new players is the massive health pools in this game, the bunny hopping and crouch spam. Making a hardcore mode might actually be more appealing to the masses. Of course me personally think it’s a shit idea, making the game total garbage, but I happen to like my games skillful and not easy mainstream trash.
I see my idea is unpopular. I’ll be honest I didn’t really think it through, but I’ve seen some threads were people were suggesting things that would make the game more difficult, or just more difficult to newer players anyway, such as friendly fire and limited health regen. I thought a “hardcore” mode might be interesting and was hoping to get some wiser input for what would be good for such a mode while keeping to dirty bombs feel and style, Not just an imitation of cod.
hardcore is easy, turn on friendly fire by default the way it always should have been. It instantly makes the game more skill based, makes aiming 10X more important
And it’ll stop fucking asshole team mates from standing right up in my face whilst I’m already shooting at someone
Based on new players’ knowledge of fundamentals in this game, I would say the last thing they need is for this game to be more difficult.
Hardcore mode is when everyone loses their HUD with that glitch in execution mode.

No, it won’t. It’ll mean you’ll be called names in chat by the player you’ve just team-killed because you should have stopped firing when you saw him.
Reminds me of the last time I played Sparks. One particular player on my side jumped in front of my revive gun so often that I started wondering whether he was a plant from the other team.

CoD called it hardcore, so people are calling it hardcore.

It was called “hardcore” long before CoD was a thing.
