Hardcoding ETPRO ?

(kragle2014) #1

Hello,

I am new to the forum and was wondering how you would go about compiling new functions into ETPRO from new or old previous mods.

Here is my “list”

Save/load from TJMOD (I know source coder - Zero)
Drag corpse from ETPUB
Kick door/nade from RTCW / some et mod
Admin mod from ETjump mod (I know source coder - Zero)
!listmaps ADMIN command from ETJUMP
Ability to callvote options off and on from ETJUMP mod = (save/load 1/0) (nofatigue 1/0) ect ..
General fixes (e.g) switching from JAYMOD to ETPRO causes upset when downloading

I know you can hardcode things because its been done on the latest JV Jump to History Beta ETpro server!

So it would be a great TJ / war mod with right config!!

Thanks and I hope you guys know what I’m on about, as it is a HUGE task and I have little coding skills :frowning:

Just use etjump and if you want to frag etpro?

To get serious: Maybe you can use etpro with gamemonkey and code this yourself.

Also lua is powerfull and could do some of it (there is already a tjmod lua with save/load and such stuff).

afaik, they only way to “mod” ETPro is with LUA

Lua trickjump mods are terrible, and I really need to use ETpro because ETJump disables alot of what I want to do and map for it… including, G_gravity, fieldops canisters, g_knockback, b_moverscale, using scripts to modify server settings… I could go on. Although it is a brilliant mod, it is very restricting in terms of what I have in mind. You can’t add anything to it, LUA is nice but… also quite restricted. Only really useful for changing settings,

I think it is possible to hardcode ETPRO because of this server doing so…

but I can’t get hold of Choco. speccan to teach me how :frowning:

Most likely they used lua for most of the stuff…
visit it, in console type and be amazed /lua_status

A skilled developer should be able to hook ETPro bins as well. So here we have another way.

+1. We have done same on our ETPro server.

Having seen what JV actually do on there ETPRO server, I can confirm it was all along LUA files to make it look like ETJUMP. Very skilled and highly thought out script… However the fact is you can’t hardcode etpro at all other than using a modified etded.x86 serverside client or what not to include codes that call things through from the LUA files.

So I guess I was wrong in alot of aspects here and I am sorry. But I would still like to give modding ET a try one day if I get any motivation to do so. Got my eye on a parkour mod for ET which could be fun for both TJ and Scrim…

Thanks for your responses, this thread can be closed now

With full JV mod loaded
