What a lousy excuse .

SD always gets the birthday wrong, doesn’t matter if it’s a Saturday or not. Us Euros got it a week before it was released in the US so the release date was the 28th of September.

That’s hard to say, but many thousand servers at the beginning. It’s hard to believe that it was so active once.

Happy Birthday.
The best MP FPS game ever designed. It’s a real pity that Activision treated the game like some tied up dog in a kennel without any food. They really lost out financially and really lost a franchise. The game has it flaws and has aged well but Splash Damage paid for the last patch out of their own pockets and offered the diehard cult following of Quake wars some restitution. With so many things going on in this game it amazing that years on there always something new to learn or class to pick up. The geometry of gameplay is balanced between both camps Strogg and Gdf. The in game VoIP is excellent also the in game social network element is unique
I have had so much fun and met so many nice people. Never come across such a community that needs more content but the miserable guys at Activision couldn’t care less.

I couldnae be arsed thinking&writing something new so I copied my Steam recommendation.

I’m kind of surprised (but happy) to see new players still entering the game so long after it’s “official” death, so since it’s celebration time, maybe it’s time for a repost of some of the good old QW ads - in case some of the new players haven’t seen them yet. And they’re so funny that they’re still worth a replay, I think

RTCW was the best game ever, ETQW is the second best. Shame on Activision for destroying it but that’s life. No amount of nostalgia will bring back the glory days. Time to move on perhaps? :stroggbanana:
