Well, you can see others covering their eyes after being concussed in third person view. Why not make it so that when you get concussed, your hand will cover the screen entirely, this will solve the brightness issue of the concussion grenade
Hand covering animation in first person?
@darlingClaymore @sympatheticMotorcycle
Thank you. I was suprised no one suggested this XD
This makes the ones that have ellipse not have ellipse? profit?
9/9 would write sentence about profiting again
They should first fix the third person animation of being blinded. Seen a bunch of times when an enemy is covering their face as if they’re blinded but they can see just fine and I get killed because I’m assuming I have extra time to line up the headshots.
For the longest time I thought whe whole inclusion of a flash grenade had been canned because of how obnoxious bright white screen effects are.
It’s really fucking obnoxious.
THIS IS PERFECT!!!
It also makes a lot of sense in-game: if a merc is covering their eyes they shouldn’t be constantly blasted by light.
Also 1 thing that they showed in the merc role call is the animation of the fingers counting the flash bang´s time left to do boom
love the idea…especially when I play at night and the whole room is illuminated by the flash. My gf always wakes up xD
This wouldn’t really work if they want to keep the dwindling effect in the game. Right now it goes from pure white screen to white overlay (but you can still see). If you’re only mildly flashed, your screen gets brighter, but that’s it. Can’t think of a way to do that with an entire hand, it’ll always block everything behind it.
I honestly don’t want to see a huge hand blocking my view if I’m only half-flashed and I can still see even a bit. Although having the hand position depend on flash level like in CS:GO would be a cool addition
Why not? Because even if you put your hands on your eyes after being flash banged you will still only see white…

Not if you cover before getting flashed.
It’s a great idea but wouldn’t it be kinda weird that your merc covers their eyes the whole time even after the concussion effect is over? What if you were initially fine and able to see at some point during the concussion effect but with this changed, your mercs hand is still covering their face?
Sounds like another good idea, but can be weird and just out of the ordinary to create another key binding just to counter one merc which is unfair.
Thunder’s flash bang eye health endangering whiteness needs to be changed to black screen, dark grey or with an animation with a hand over the eyes
i mean the point of flash bang in games is that make you unable to see IN GAME and NOT to blind you so you cannot see your keyboard or tv that is standing next to your monitor
I took some footage of Thunder’s flash grenades and replaced the initial brightness with a black fade.
