Had some of my worst games today...

People seem to start to pick-up on how OP the new Phantom actually is.
It counters both Bushwhacker and Aura at the same time… guess what my squad is? Bushwhacker, Aura and Skyhammer. Couldn’t they have just buffed him by making him a fast character with a big hitbox and more energy or something? Also maybe a silent cloak?

Right now, he can be seen by everyone clearly, but he disables just any and all health stations, turrets.

I’ve seriously had a game where the only medics on my team were Auras getting raped by three Phantoms. I went straight 3/38. I’m not even kidding… I know i’m new, but hell, I could go 18/10 against rank 15s and 20s when I was on rank 7 and now i’m just failing third day in a row. It’s just Phantom everywhere …

Aura deserves a full counter, I see no problem with a character able to do so. I’d honestly like Thunder to get an EMP grenade (either separate ability or given back to his concussion grenade) and possibly Phantom’s EMP separated form his cloak.

The worst part about him now is that in ranked, his EMP kills your own teams deployables as well haha.

i like the emp cause now when nooby phantoms in pubs try to katana the kira, they will disable the station, allowing me to get free kills while the phantom distracts them all like a fucking lunatic.

Well, the emp makes them aswell more visible because you see that your stations get disabled you know theres a phantom. Not to mention, its not that hard to kill them because they have rather low hp and even as aura you can win against them in a 1vs1 fight.

I personally dont think that it does make him too overpowered, because if your team groups up (as atleast 2) he still is in an heavy disadvantage. The new Thunder is way more of a pain in the ass because of the low cooldown of the conc-nade and the now really hilarious effect, blinding you and slowing your whole movement (jumps now aswell wuhu) so fucking hard, its freaking impossible to survive it.

His EMP ability should be separated from his cloak. Very easy to tell when he is flanking now and if FF is on by design for the EMP it really NEEDS to be separated haha.

Holy pineapple in a fruit salad if this is true it’s ridiculous. More and more I think of this I think if SD honestly is now stuck with their decision of keeping EMP Phantom’s thing, they should definitely separate cloak and EMP so that you can first (horribly attempt to) conceal yourself without disabling thingies, and only do so once in proper range for it.

Seriously I want EMP Thunder Back. Or give it to him as a separate grenade with a long cooldown.

Phantom and thunder with separate abilities that is Cloaking and EMP and Concussion and EMP would be great and i think it will balance it well. As for aura, Never be alone with an aura… tag up with a rhino or a key player so that damage to you is minimal and with a shotgun you can ward off fast paced mercs

phantom is really week now with the HUGE cooldown nerf. no longer can you repeak a corner constantly poking people for guaranteed damage, no longer can you move throughenemy territory with the armor always at the ready

If you take a gander down in the Mercenary section, you can find some Phantom-related threads with ideas for changes to his new EMP mechanic. Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated in those threads.

He actually got nerfed more than buffed.
In ranked you disable your teammate buildings as well which is just stupid
When you disable buildings the enemy team knows you are nearby, which makes Phantom even less sneaky (and he wasn’t sneaky even before the change)
When you use the cloak, you get 7 seconds cooldown straight away and it keeps going up the more you stay cloaked.

They need to remove EMP field while cloaked and add a new ability which will give him an EMP + Spot field for 2 seconds (cooldown of 23 seconds) which will spot enemies/disable buildings for 7 seconds
And also lower the amount of sound (standing still will create no sound at all).
And last but not least, change the way cooldown works on Phantom to the way it was before (no stupid 7 seconds cooldown straight away), maybe it would be cool if you could cloak at any time you want (like Redeye’s IR Goggles) but the armor won’t block damage
