Gus squirt-hurter inconsistencies

(General_Rommel) #1

I would consider this a bug, as it’s widely inconsistent when attempting to slide 2 toons that are side-by-side in the same direction. Some times both slide, and sometimes only the further one slides (the one directly hit stays in place). Here are some examples:

Here on Market, the toons are directly lined up, yet only 1 moves:

In this next example, same area in Market, and less direct of an angle, and both toons slide over:

In this next example, same area in Market, both toons slide over:

This example here, at less of a direct angle, both toons can slide over:

The point is, this is inconsistent

I’ve noticed the damage taken is sometimes zero, sometimes not…

I sort of like the random feel when squirting. When I couldn’t do it with dee and pete or dave and spud I wondered if it was based on toon body size or weight. This would be interesting if future heavies can’t move( just take dam) medium moved one lights two

I just discovered … I think, can’t remember the last time someone fired on shield-a-bot and all toons behind it were knocked for six (2 squares)

(General_Rommel) #8

I think this is whether Gus shoots at a “direct” angle or not (think about if Gus splashes the square beside the target, but moves the target towards Gus vs away)…

…in addition to how close the splash is to the toon

Body weight would make sense, but notice in both my examples I used the same toons (Juan and Rick). In both examples Juan took the direct hit, but only slid in one of the examples.

This is a bug, as I noticed that it isn’t even consistent between the spawn points - try this on Favela for example. If you start first, you can slide both toons in your spawn, but if you start second, and replicate the EXACT same positioning, only one toon moves

(As if going second needed ANOTHER disadvantage on that map)

I don’t have screenshots (I’m done with playing favela, it sucks if you go second, and quickly got sick of it), but this issue is easy to replicate there.

OTOH, it would actually be kind of awesome if Gus’s cannon moved according to weight class.

LW move 3 squares
MW move 2 squares
HW move 1 square

…and be affected by the order that they “lined up”
