hey, i would like to dedicate this thread to one very specific aspect of the game. the “gunplay”.
plz use this thread to express your opinions about everything concerning weapons.
how do they look, sound and feel. what about attributes like damage, firerate, clip size etc.?
so, my experience in dirty bomb is very limited. i had only a few matches against real people. if i start the game, i mostly just run around solo and test the overall “feel” of your character. how does it feel to move around and how does it feel to fire a gun. this is essential for me in a shooter and more important than anything else.
right now all the weapons feel weak. they sound weak, there is no kick behind them, no impact to feel and there’s only very little recoil. if i try to semi fire, i miss the “oomph” with every single shot.
how to fix? the animations need work. the guns need to kick back more. additional recoil will help improve the feeling of actual “force” as well. but plz, don’t misinterprete me, i don’t want the guns to be more powerful to kill more quickly, i just want them to FEEL more powerful. i want to feel the “oomph”.
sounds need some tweaking as well. guns make noise and are generally pretty loud. i’m missing this in dirty bomb as well. there’s almost no bass within the gun sounds. also, there seems to be a issue with the full automatic weapons sounds. even if you semi fire your shots, it sounds like a full automatic rifle.
the gun models itself are pretty much fine. the ironsight views need some more fidelity. i personally would scratch the ironsight before putting any more work into it. 
so, yea, that’s my opinion about the current “gunplay”. the guns need to feel more powerful. more oomph. sounds, animation and impact effects need more work to achieve this. and a lot more recoil.
i also want to mention that i’m hugely dissappointed to see only bullet based weaponry. i can only hope that there will be weapons based on projectiles like grenade launchers and rocket launchers. near future right? so, go crazy.
