gun damage vs knife damage

I’m failing to understand why the difference between these 2 is so large, i hit someone with 15 smg bullets, they got about 1/4 hp left, i shiv someone, they die in 1 or 2 hits?

How is that even logical, bullets would cause much more bodily harm than knives, then you have the data cores that can ALSO 2 shot if your melee’d.

knife damage doesn’t seem to really change where you hit the person, hit someone anywhere but the head with bullets you’re going to do pretty much no damage.

10-15 body shots/ 2 shots to the head opposed to 1 or 2 knifes.

Now I’m not saying that knifes are op, they’re far from it, the point is the damage gap shouldn’t be so ridiculously large between the 2.

It isn’t designed to be realistic, if anything you die too quick to bullets and too slow to knives, not the other way around…

I agree with @Mustang‌ really… However, I don’t feel you die to slowly to a knife but more along the lines of the knife mechanics being bad. Maybe its the very short range or the fact you slow down to walking pace during a swing.

If you was to make the knifes slower, it would not only become a pure humiliation weapon but it would be basically useless. The problem currently with the bullet TTK is that the weapons RoF is so fast on some weapons that it becomes strange to have it requiring 50 bullets to kill when a SMG can fire 50 bullets in 2 seconds.

Yea I would like to see how knife is without a movement slowdown also.
