Hey all,
Im having some problems with GtkRadiant.
Every time when i compile a map i get a error :frowning:
It says:

************ ERROR ************
Error opening C:/Program Files/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/etmain/maps/testNo brushes selected.
: Invalid argument

Somebody knows why and how to fix it?
I thought that it could be because ive got a 64 bit version of windows and GtkRadiant is a 32 bit program… But i couldn’t find a 64 bit version for windows to test it…
I tried GtkRadiant 1.4 and 1.5.
My OS is Windows 7 beta but also tried on Vista Premium(both 64 bit).

does the compile complete anyway, or you can’t compile?

The compile stops after this error.

What is the name of the map?
Looks like it has some invalid char.

invalid chars? :S
in this error its name is test

It should have test.map, but seems it’s missing an extension(or invalid char stops it)

Maybe full compile log would be usefull…

you gave radiant admin rights in wondows 7?
otherwise it crash…

First i thought: Omg how stupid of me that i didn’t try that… But then i tried it, and it didn’t work :frowning:

And i get the same error when i try to save a map:

hum i use radiant 1.4 and windows 7 -
and it works
i gave radiant.exe admin rights,
and the q3map.exe, too.

save a map works, too.

can you open the goldrush.map file?

I just tried GtkRadiant 1.5.0 again, and now everything seems fine :S
So i tried 1.4.0 again which didn’t work…
So i guess im doomed to use 1.5.0.

One other thing you can try is to make sure there is no space in the path nor in the mapname.

trying to interpret the error… lol

maybe it takes the ‘-’ in Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory as a prefix for arguments, then it checks what the argument is, but there is none. Anyhow I would try to install ET in c:\wolfet and something similar for radiant 1.4 … if you are lucky it works, Else be sure to try compatibility to modes out.

edit: yet the complier finds the shaders… so its unlikely to be cause of the spaces in the path…

Yes it is unlikely… As said above 1.5 does work on my desktop but doesnt on my laptop… And on both version 1.4 doesnt work. So its a strange story :S… Ill stick to 1.5 from now on(unless somebody has a great idea how to fix it).
