GTKradiant with windows 7 ?

(dwe_flame) #1

i always used gtk under windows XP without much problems, but now on windows 7 (64 bit) i get total incorrect display of gtk when starting up ( see attachment, should be a 4 way split screen in gtk)

i couldt find a answer yet on the forums here ( or i may have searched wrong) but is there some fix for this ? :frowning:

Try all compitable modes and disable visualisations.

Uff… maybe I shouldn’t get Windows 7 or install it at least in parallel to XP.

I’m running gtk under win7 64

all you have todo is to navigate to the radiant folder and change the compability settings of the .exe (no need for a compability mode though)
just tick the disable visual styles and the disable desktop styling option, then it runs just fine

Oh crap… GTK 1.4 won’t save any .map on Windows 7. Is there any fix for that?

It just says:

ERROR: couldn’t open D:/Program Files (x86)/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory Editing/etmain/maps/testNo brushes selected.

im not sure, but maybe get a someone else .map file from 1.4, open it, make changes and save… may work.

(pazur) #10

I installed 1.5 and this saves the maps… but as we know 1.5 is not very stable

(Pegazus) #11

Can’t recall when i last had issues with 1.5. Oh yeah it crashed when i used snap to grid, but that was a one time only

:stroggbanana:

If you are working on an existing map, use notepad to create a new, empty .map file. Then copy and paste your existing map into the new .map file. 1.4 should save to it now. You still can not use ā€œsave asā€. So keep Netradient or 1.5 around for that.
