GTKRadiant With Vista

(nevloow) #1

Hi,
I know a little about GTKRadiant but not alot. I have this problem though, with GTKRadiant 1.4.0, I cant save anything, I try and click save, nothing strange happens but it still says unnamed.map or whatever.
With 1.5.0 I can make a new brushes, but then it mucks up and I cannot create anymore.
Is there a fix for this?
Also, I am getting Windows 7 soon, do any GtkRadiants work with that?
Thanks, Nevloow

never had any problem with gtk 1.4 or 1.5 on vista (ultimate x64) … maybe you need some admin-rights while executing/running gtk (same way like et) …

… ive already installed win7 (ultimate x64)
… ill give a try later (if you wanna wait so long) xD

Ive done Run As Administrator, The does nothing for me though.
Im not sure when I will be getting Windows 7 as I ordered it through Dell (I got it eligble with my Laptop) but it will proberly take ages to come though (I dont think they have sent it yet after nearly a week after ordering).
Thanks for your help.

Have you tried:

Right-click GtkRadiant.exe, Properties
Compatibility
Disable desktop composition

Ok, I have sorta sorted this out I think. I have to start a map (or just create 1 brush) in GtkRadiant 1.5.0. Then open it in GtkRadiant 1.4.0, then I can edit it and overight it.
Thanks for any replys.
