GtkRadiant 1.5.0

(Kobayashi) #1

Hi. I’ve just installed the latest GtkRadiant and noticed that the entities list is
completly empty. The et_entities.def file is in the etmain/scripts folder…
i also copied the et_entities.ent file from GtkRadiant to etmain/scripts as well.
What do i have to do to get the entities to work?
I’ve been searching a lot but found nothing helpful.

at the moment your probably best off using version 1.4, as 1.5 is still beta afaik and has many little irritating bugs, and no plugins yet

download 1.5.0. GTK Radiant from this address, , there are 3versions, dowload the down version, I use it , it is good
http://www.wolfenstein.cz/download.html
but the most stable is GTK Radiant 1.4.0. Q3RTCWET from
http://www.qeradiant.com/?data=files&files_dir=23
donť forget unzip from etmain folder common.pk3 and pak0.pk3 - models!!!

Thank you both. I think i’ll use 1.4 for now.

1.5.0 rearranged the location of entity definition files, and changed the format completely to an XML format.

1.5.0 splits the core GtkRadiant and game packs into two separate downloads. You need to install the core GtkRadiant program and then install the necessary game pack, Q3, Wolf, ET, whatever.

Your entities.ent file should be where you installed GtkRadiant, it should be installed by the game pack. So something like “C:\Program Files\GtkRadiant[game platform][mod]\entities.ent”
For example, my Q3 entities.ent is here: “C:\Program Files\GtkRadiant 1.5.0\q3.game\baseq3\entities.ent”

You could also use the updated et_entities.ent file EB and I made while back (it’s still not complete :x).

It may not be complete, but it is by far alot better than what is default at this point.
I/We will finish it very soon Shaderman, very soon.
…and hopefully make that the default XML entity list.
