GTKRadiant 1.5.0 or etwolf_tool ? (first map)

(arkadius) #1

Hi,

I’ll try to create my first map, I would like to know which mapeditor should I install ?

  • GTKRadiant 1.5.0
    or

  • wolfet_tool

it’s the same software ?

Thank you for your help

Never heard of this one

Radiant 1.5 is still in beta stage and some useful things are missing. It’s probably better to use Radiant 1.4.

wolfet_tool contains the original (and official) “SD Radiant”. Its splashscreen is still visible when you launch GTKRadiant in W:ET mode.

Since SD Radiant lacks quite some features, it’s advised to use GTKRadiant, preferably 1.4 as Shaderman said.

for wolfet_tool

ok, I’ll install 1.4 version of GTKRadiant

:notworthy:

I’d say 1.4 or 1.5.

There is more information and tutorials avialable for 1.4, but 1.5 is the way of the future.

et_wolftool IS gtkradiant.

I personally use both 1.4 and 1.5. Mainly 1.5. If there’s some brushwork I can’t do in 1.5 or something then I switch to 1.4. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut i’m still on my first map, so it would be better to listen to the people who actually completed one ;p
