GtkGensmurf

(Paul) #1

Hi guys,

I heared about gtkgensmurf; its in Gtk 1.4 i believe?
Is there a function in Grk 1.5 that works the same?

Greets:)

Its not gtkgensmurf its - GtkGenSurf. No I dont think so there is. As a mapper i use both radiants, they complete each other very well

haha. gtkgensmurf. lol

I gues the smurfs would call it GtkGenSmurf, since they say smurf for all words, like “surf” :-p

Anyway, try using a thirdparty program like EasyGen or Fate, they are much better.

Sorry i typed it wrong :stuck_out_tongue:
Ik zal die andere dingen ook wel ff proberen :stuck_out_tongue:

Or just create it manually in radiant… :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Manualy? That makes me feel sick (when I think about 512 trangles). Yes This is my 100th post

doing it manually gives you a much more refined look and it will be worth it when you finish the map and the terrain looks very smooth.

I use the stand-alone version of Gensurf - it’s pretty easy to use and allows you to create the terrain outside of radiant and save it as a .map file.

The program is a little dated - its from back in the Quake 2 days before it was integrated into Radiant.

It requires very little memory and also allows you to adjust the grid points on the z-axis for those small tweaks.

Once you create your terrain you can just import the whole file into your map and then adjust the properties of the terrain func_group to suit.
