GTK radiant problem

Recently ive tried making my own map.
everything worked fine (with GTKradiant 1.4)
until i wanted to save my map.
this is the error i got:
ERROR: couldn’t open C:/Program Files/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory/etmain/maps/try1No brushes selected.
for write

any suggestions on how i might fix this?

I read somewhere that this is a Vista problem, do you use vista?

Did radiant save any files called xxxxxx.bak?

yes i do use vista, a friend of mine uses vista aswell but has no problems, he downloaded it from the same site, even sent me his setup to try but it wont work.
and bout the xxxxxx.bak, no it didnt save anything like that.

well, you might try to update 1.5, though some people complain that it is unstable and has bugs, i myself never have had any issues. That is the only thing i know what to suggsest, and what might work, since i never have had this kind of problem before.

I am using 1.5 on my vista desktop and don’t seem to be having any problems.

However I am using it too on my Vista laptop and am having problems with 1.4 and 1.5.

I also have 1.4 on my XP laptop and can’t save or build anything.

Both the laptops are powerful machines so I cant see what the problems could be, I have tried reinstalling many times.

Is there a reliable link where people can download them.

Maybe that is the problem.

(Although I am using the same downloads for each machine so maybe not)

Try turning off visual themes on the GTKRadiant.exe (Not the shortcut) under properties-compatility. If that does not work try switching the compatility mode to windows 2000. (I dont know if you can do that in vista)
