GTK 1.4 & surface inspector

(Axedup) #1

Does anyone knows whats going on here?

in prev versions of gtk, I used to be able to “ctrl + shift + left click” and select multiple surfaces, press “s” for surface inspector, and then apply, and the first texture would be passed onto the other selected faces.

I gtk 1.4, I cant really operate the surface inspector tool properly, u do the same as above and nothing happens.

Please help, Im going mad!!! :eek3:

http://www.qeradiant.com/manual/Q3Rad_Manual/appndx/sskey_dl.htm#mousefunc

Grab Texture| Grabs the texture + alignment + flags of the brush face under the cursor into Surf Inspector. Any currently selected face or brushes will automatically be assigned the grabbed values.| MIDBUT

Note you don’t even need to open the surface inspector for this to work.

That doesn’t explain why the previous behavior has changed, of course

Thx m8, spot on, and OMG that really helps, no more hitting “s” all the time and bringing up the surface inspector

Also, is it just me, but say you open any sub window to gtk, ie texture browser with “T” and you select the texture u want, in other apps, hit “T” again and the texture browser closes. In GTK, hit “T” and it does nothing until u mouse click back onto the MAIN gtk window and then “T” shortcut will work again.

Im sure this was working like this on a early version or gtk, ( and I mean early) its like the kbd shortcuts only work on the main GTK gui not the sub-windows. was it left out of the later builds for a reason?

I hope I’ve explained myself clearly, its an odd problem to describe…

Thx again

Yes 1.3.11 or so changed to GTK2, and this changed the shortcut handling as you describe. You are not the only one to find it annoying :stuck_out_tongue:

I believe spog has re-worked shortcut handling for 1.5.

GET IN!!!

Yeah thats a must GTK people, your mouse hand has enough to do with moving and clicking and pointing etc… ease its burden and re-enable the shortchuts!

10-10 BTW, I LOVE MY GTK!!!
