Growing the Player Base
Dirty bomb needs a bigger player base, for sure, it’s a great game and barely anyone plays it.
The one thing i’m scared about is Overwatch; a lot of people are hyped for it. A few Dirty bomb players that my friends are aware of have started playing the Beta and i’m hoping this doesnt mean the player base drops.
Overwatch looks great, but Dirty bomb is also great. I dont really have any interest in Overwatch myself, but I know of a few people who are going to go to Overwatch on release.

Maybe just me overthinking a little, but who knows.
Almost 200,000 unique players played the game in the last two weeks and there hasn’t been any new content in quite some time or advertising (so that number spikes drastically when there are events or new mercs). That’s not huge by LoL or CS:GO numbers but that is hardly “barely anyone plays it” territory. The population could definitely always be bigger though.

Dirty Bomb has potential to be a great game. It’s up to the developers to make things right. It’s struggling at the moment with weird priorities and questionable balance changes.

I was very confused about the dev stream. Why is vechile detail important?

Visual details are important, but largely vehicle placement is important to me.

The only feature for vehicle detail that’s important to me is the dimensions of the windows and the height of the vehicle. Some windows are not leveled for squishy mercs which loses a huge part of its function for those mercs (Merc’s too short, loss of field of view). And on the flip, there are vehicles that are too low and enable players to still hit headshots against taller mercs (which forces you to crouch but then you lose the opportunity to strafe efficiently). I’m only interested in how well I can hit headshots through the windows (and if the vehicle even has windows), the amount of cover I have, and if I can stand upright to allow strafing and not get headshotted (if the vehicle is too small).

Vehicles are awesome for positioning and cover. I’m expecting that when this game gets more competitive people will start noticing their importance. But if you’ve played FPS games in the past you should be able to appreciate this upcoming update.

There are a ton of pros and cons with map detailing for each kind of merc, with any update I’m looking to exploit and ponder the benefits and trade-offs of added features for each kind of merc.

In my opinion the update notes this time around were more appealing for the Dirty Bomb nerds than the core community.

Disclaimer
Nerds are cool as shit in my book. I don’t mean to offend people who identify as nerds.

@kingsley haha youre the most hardcore player out here. only other game i played was nexons previous FPS and box height for cover was paramount. You could peek boxes so that your head wasn’t really showing if you setup the angles right and still shoot.
