Gross Incompetence

Why is it that it seems that NO ONE understands that this is a class based game that requires people to fulfill a role and not just play as though it was a mindless retard game like CoD… medics need to heal, engineers need to engineer, and “spies” need to hack. But everyone play as though they are a soldier with different abilities, has anyone else noticed this?

Just one quick question: What do Soldiers need to do?

Seriously though, it seems a toss up on what any human character (and even AI) are going to do. As I die, sitting there I look around and see a Medic! Yay! Except, wait, where are they going? Happens too often. Then there’s the games where I get “Weapon Buffed by CoolEngy, Health boosted by AwesomeMed, Enemy highlighted by SlickOps” all the time. So, maybe everyone just hasn’t caught on yet, or they are running into supply issues?

Ye, sometimes it is like that. When it happens to often, I try this trick.

[ol]
[li]Option > Scoreboard: I check what players seems to be least bad (don’t ask me how I do that; I just go by intuition I guess).[/li][li]I click on their name > “Invite to Fireteam” (this sends an invitation to them, as you know - hopefully I get 2-3 guys to join)[/li][li]I use the “text communicate with fireteam only”-button, and I type “We need to sync our attack!”, “We need to find another way around!” or similar. (Or I use mic.) Sometimes, this works, and our team’s flow becomes better.[/li][/ol]
There is no patent, you may use this formula

Btw, where are the BRINK smiles? :oppressor:

Because, if you haven’t noticed half the posts on this board are, “Why is there no TDM?” or, “Why do I get like 30 kills but no XP.” or, “Insert Complaint Here.” After only playing the game for an hour and not playing to find out their complaint is answered by a skill/ability or something they didn’t have knowledge about, but could do it.

Or whatever other number of things…I mean I have had Medics right next to me not revive me even though I watch them heal themselves…

Maybe on the supply. I suppose people haven’t figured out the whole “conservation” part or the “this is a game based on teamwork so I should not heal myself but instead rez that guy” (long fake quote). Maybe someday…

(BeyondSpectrality) #6

You are kidding right?

(NullEleven) #7

I’m assuming he said that bit about the soldier because I didn’t mention them in the original post… I hope.

The guns in this game run out of ammo extremely quickly- soldiers need to watch the ammo meter above their teammates heads and supply them when they run low. Soldiers also have flashbangs and molotovs, which are an extremely important ‘opening assault’ when you’re attacking entrenched defenders.

If you see a medic passing you by, you should be able to see heir supply meter above their heads- if they’re out of supply pips, don’t sweat it. If there’s a medic on your team that’s not revving, use team chat to give him a friendly reminder that it’s extremely important to keep the team on the offensive as opposed to respawning. Be nice, they’re probably new to this.

I usually play as medic, but i found my self turnnign 360º degrees a lot, you cant tell, if someone needs a medic behind you and its hard to tell if they are near or far away, the icon for the downed enemys should be in diferent sizes too i think, and lol rarely soldiers give me amo : D

(BeyondSpectrality) #10

Remember you can bring up your objective wheel and select, “Revive Nearest Teammate.” Then you get how many meters away they are and they get a yellow medic symbol to tell them you are coming.

There are so many things that people don’t know about Brink, like if you are an Operative hacking an objective you can move while hacking. 4 bars of connection = 9xp every interval and maximum hack rate, 3 bars = 7xp leds hack rate, 2 bars = 5xp less hack rate and lastly 1 bar = 3xp and lowest hack rate.

The more hackers hacking the faster the hacking progresses.

You gain and lose connectivity bars by being closer or father from the hack box.

+1 to that, gangster.

(Zamininc) #12

Notice how everyone does the soldiering except the soldier.

I mainly medic, but when I go engineer it’s extremely annoying to go down and have 2 medics not even ATTEMPT to revive you.

[/QUOTE] they didn’t get it, even though you followed with “Seriously though”

Anyway, I have a different experience and had some fun games with people
doing what they are suppose to be doing. And sure, some lesser ones but that’s ok, you
can not expect perfect games every time and it’s useless getting mad about it.
People are still learning, new people in every day. No one is perfect and certainly not
from the get go. Also, be kind and forgiving to new players (like me =D)
Be honey, not vinegar. Keep them playing the game, it’s good for Brink.
