Grenades

This might be the first FPS I play that only one class is able to throw a grenade. A grenade should be a default weapon on all classes.

[PF] Give 2 grendes for medics and 1 for heavy weapon merc . Grenades can be refilled by the merc hammer.

Not literally…for example (some are going to say it’s a really bad example, but) in TF2 the only class who can spam grenades is the demoman. Now, as much as I like or hate that game I can relate to the thinking that brought Valve to limit the grenades to one class. It was to avoid players spamming them all over the maps.
Now, I still have to play DB, but if the maps are medium/small sized I think is a pretty good choice to limit the number of mercs who can use guns (maybe not just 1, but to 2-3 mercs in the final release), if the maps are big or really expansive, maybe it could not damage the pace of the game that all mercs can use them.

BTW; obviously it’ll depend ultimately from what the devs have in mind for the fights in the game.

This is the thing what’s making the game great, choose different mercs to improve your gameplay/teamplay

I agree all class should have a grenade, but the guy who already has one should have grenade launcher for a certain amount of time.

Now that think about that is a little unfair I think your idea is better G-force except every class should get a grenade or two.

Arty and Fragger are my favorite characters to play as and I’m better with Arty. Doesn’t have grenades but he has something more powerful.

Many mercs that are out of this rotation have grenades (molotov, remotely-detonated grenades, grenade launcher, concussion grenades).

The game would be extremely spammy if even more grenades were introduced. Just wait and see how many EPM (explosions per minute) occur when all those other mercs are in the game.

Nader (who was missing in the latest version but will be definitely back in the future) has a grenade launcher. The idea is to prevent massive nade spam that would ruin the fun in such small maps. And personnally I already think there’s already too much explosive spam in this game.
I’m really against giving every class a grenade because it will ruin the strong gunfight you can see right now. Imagine a fight involving a good number of players on both sides (let’s say 3v3). Instead of resolving it by fighting with their main weaponry, people will tend to lend a bed of grenade that will totally crush the fun.

That is exactly what happens in QW. If you ever tried to get inside ventilation control on volcano as strogg, enjoy the 15 different nades coming your way.
