Grenade weapon sounds

Hi,

I’m trying to change the weapon sounds.
Now I want to change the sounds for the grenades.
And make different sounds for the allied pineapple and the german grenade.
I had a look in the “weapons/pineapple.weap”- and the “weapons/grenade.weap”-file.
But I haven’t found what I am looking for.
(The “firingSound” is played as long as the fire button is pressed).

If I replace the “sound/weapons/grenade/”-wav files (especially the “gren_timer4.wav” to “gren_timer1.wav”) then both grenades have the same sounds.
And also the dynamite and the smoke of covert ops use these files.

Is this possible without coding?

What sounds do you want to change exactly?
The throwing sound? or explosion sounds or the prime sounds?

I know that the throw sounds can be changed via the weap files.
What I’m interested in are the prime sounds.

I’m afraid that those are in the code.
I haven’t seen any of them anywhere else when I was working on my mod.

Thanks for the help (actually I wanted to change them without coding).

just create your sound for the prime with the same name as the old prime sound

then put it in a pk3 files thats alphabticaly after the one that contains thge old sound. then when this loads it will override the old sound without need to change any code or even weap files

I know this.
But I wanted to make different prime sounds for allied and axis grenade.

Well, I’m trying to do about the same thing for some other things in the game.
But I also foun out that you HAVE to alter the source to make this happen. (LION’s post will help me greatly with that thnx)
