Grenade + Weapon Damage

Matter of opinion, I do recall however that when RTCW died most of the top teams didn’t move to ET (which had lower everything by comparison), as they considered it a drop down in skill. For most people everything that isn’t what you personally prefer is “less skilled”, that’s the nature of gaming.

The problem I have with long TTK is that it promotes 1 skill (tracking) over every other skill you’d expect a FPS to require. For me that’s an issue because it’s not my personal preference, and if that were all it was it’d be no problem at all, this game doesn’t need me to like it to succeed after all. However I suspect it’s going to limit the game’s appeal to a wider audience, people who’ve previously never played ET / ET:QW etc. are going to load up this game and immediately question why the guns appear not to work very well.

I want 20 HS and 100 Bodyshots! For me the TTK/Damage Thing is fine. I dont want a fast dying game like CoD/Battlefield, I prefer this. I would suggest, before talking about damage etc, we need a good crosshair and a decent hitreg/movement/aim/optimization to see wether the damage is too high/low. Right now it can be everything which leads to this discussion, not registered hits/clipping errors etc. Also would it already be an improvement when the endgame stats would shof your own accuracy in % and maybe the Headshot acc/Hits. But for me, discussing about RoF/TTK is just pure guessing because right now its hard to say why you lost/won the fight. And some of the old RTCW/ET/ETQW guys should see DB as a new game and not as a sequel of RTCW/ET/ETQW. I dont want to play a clone of these games, I want something new and I have to say that I like DB the way DB is developed right now.

Well its actually the same as BF3, he was assuming 140health remember.

(Apples) #44

6 bodyshot to kill in BF3? Gosh it has changed then, in BC2 it was one pew pew or the AR94 and dead.

The guns could be more accurate. Feels too much like Brink now with this spread/recoil.

(tokamak) #46

25% higher/ faster spread creep, IE you bloom more easily, but then 50% faster spread recovery would feel right I think. This would lead to an increased accuracy among the weapons but also a higher reward for controlling your bursts. Right now the recovery is too slow to truly feel the reward.

And then ofc you can vary it among weapns but I´m talking about the standard mp5.

Agree^

I’m still struggling with the Movement also…

(warbie) #48

I would also like less spread and possibly quicker spread recovery - DB still doesn’t feel precise in the way RTCW and ET did. To offset this I’d also like to see what lowering the rof a little does.

(Hundopercent) #49

I can agree with this. The guns could be perfect for all I know but without a quality xhair, hit reg, damage lag, optimization, and better hit boxes I can’t be 100% sure. At the same time I still don’t think I can be on board with the 4+ HS for a medic especially since it has the smallest amount of ammo now. I understand it’s a support class, but forcing a class to be so innately inferior that people with less skill can win a duel because their gun does 50% more damage than yours is silly (about as silly as canceling sprint for…every…single…action…you…do…) I’ve started sniping more since it feels like it has more of an affect on the battlefield than chain reviving people and not being able to heal them because you’re too busy running and healing yourself.

Hate to be that guy, but…

Fun > Skill && Fun != Insta-death
∴ ↑TTK > ↓TTK

(INF3RN0) #51

Medic has 35 bullets still doesn’t it, so fops would have the least ammo in a clip? Maybe you mean overall ammo and not clip size, but that doesn’t really effect the medic’s ability to kill and with all the ammo a fops can provide it usually doesn’t happen as long as you got one on your team. The only other guns that do more damage are 3hs kills (soldier gun2/fops rifle), which is only 1 less due to their slower rof and less self-sustainability. FOPS rifle is one of the most skill reliant and rewarding weapons in the game currently. You only get 30 bullets, but it rewards headshot tracking very well. It’s worth a try if you want more skill duels, but sniper is also a good pick as well.

(HellToupee) #52

As i said he was assuming 140health, thats 25 damage hits, what does an AR in BF3 deal? Yes that’s right 25.

In BC2 even a pre nerf AN94 did not do that level of damage, and it still took 3 HS to kill a 100health soldier in bc2.

(Apples) #53

Dunno, I clearly remember that everyone was complaining that it was OP, and that very few shots were needed to kill. Maybe it is the general pace of the game that makes me think that, but I allways found myself dying way more quickly in BF series than in ET / ETQW / DB

(RasteRayzeR) #54

I like the grenades a lot now, they are perfect imo, but I would like a special thing with them :

if you get hit by a grenade yet you survive, I’d like so much to hear my character cough in a humorous and gross way, I would roll on the floor laughing each time I guess xD

(HellToupee) #55

It was OP in that like the m60 it was clearly superior to the other weapon choices you had. They both got nerfed, an-94 became a pretty crappy weapon even. Death was faster because ROF was higher and health pool lower even tho bullet damage was similar.

The VSS tho was another story, lucky few people realized what you could do with it

The good thing at BF games is, that the sound of the guns is so different that you can hear far away from the fight which guns are used.
