Great ranked experience. Banned for no reason. Again.

Great day i said to myself. Let’s play some dirty bomb ranked, i had not done that in a while.
10 minutes to find a match, “player failed to connect to join the server”, another 10 minutes, “player failed to connect to join the server”, another 10 minutes, bunch of 9/10 accepts, another few minutes, “player failed to connect to join the server”, another 10 minutes, “player failed to connect to join the server”, another 10 minutes. Finally get to lobby, it all looks like it’s gonna finally start. Somebody dodges and i get banned for 30 minutes. What the fuck. ( I was banned for 5 or so minutes yesterday as well for someone else dodging )

“Minor penalty for failing to accept match” my ass.

this is why I left ranked shortly after the season started. I’m not playing season 4 either unless something major changes, now matter how many skins they throw at me.

Yep. People playing on wifi with 100+ ping is the norm here, so more than 1 out of 10 has connection problems, color me surprised.

Well when people live far away from the ranked server, what can you really expect. Sure some people do have bad internet, but when the entire world only has 3 server choices, it’s not really their fault.

Regardless, you shouldn’t be disconnected from a server like that. I’ve been disconnected with completely normal ping, it’s not the player’s fault.

What’s to disagree here with? It’s a problem that needs to be fixed I don’t see where is an opinion. Ranked is plagued with issues, I also had a man in my group have that happen to him, it’s dumb and annoying and shouldn’t exist if the devs ever plan on calling this a competitive game.

Here is a page to Pingplotter free. Try pinging google and if you have packet loss on the few first hops then the problem is on your side. I.e. You have a shody internet on wifi shared with other persons or on a crowded canal. Sorry, you wont play any game competitively.

How the hell this turned into a wifi internet debate. The ranked clearly has issues that have nothing to do with that.

I’m saying with 3 servers for the entire world, and not everyone’s ping issues are their own fault. I’m lucky to live near a server so my ping is fine. But the lack of servers is the main reason you see such high ping in ranked.

There is three regions. Not three servers… Besides, ping and packet loss are different things. AWS for EU is fine for me, but if your point is “People living in the country far from any servers have high ping and can’t play ranked decently”. Well yes. You are soooo rite.

Sure mate. Dont try to discard what could ban you from ranked and cause connection problems. Dont try to localize if it’s from your end or serveside. Keep on rocking in the forums, that’s where the fun is obviously. People here will discuss game balance and bugs while having a big yellow connection error icon on their screencaps. So…

i have played ranked in the euro server with a 200ish ping with no problems and played the NA server at 50 ping and AU server at 280 or so. never been “booted” or lost connection. i would say my internet is crap at best. but lately been getting 5 min bans for clicking accept and nothing happens…that sucks. I have filled out 10-15 bug reports about it, would be nice to hear some feedback about that problem. funny though if you let the counter get to at LEAST 24 before you click accept it works every time, if i click when its over 28, i dont load in and get the ban.

I know it is not my problem because i have been playing ranked for a loooooooooong time. I know my internet connection and i know how servers work. I also played ranked matches and saw people with 300 ping that stayed in the server no problem, so please, take your smart ass somewhere else before you start talking shit trying to sound smarter than anyone else around.
Not to mention that those issues are relatively new and nothing has changed on my end.

I don’t think I’m being a smart ass bringing a pinging software link in this discussion where you complain about 1 out of 10 “player failed to connect to join the server”. Just a bit more grounded than you complaining to SD about it… Bye.
