Gotcha Now SD. stop releasing Pre-release junk as "DLC"

(iezza) #1

Got your attention, now up rep me for a cookie

(tangoliber) #2

All of the dlc abilities were originally planned for the game, but couldn’t make the release date. So they put it in the dlc.

“Gotcha” this is old news. As tangoliber said, SD already said the DLC content was in the works but not ready for release.

Sometimes I wonder if the people posting to this forum do any research at all before creating a new thread.

Oh, right, I guess they didn’t have this ready for release yet either? It’s obvious they paced some of these items for DLC to make a bit of cash.

Sometimes I wonder how much Splash Damage pays Jimmy James to defend this piece of **** game that nobody ****ing plays.

(Jimmy James) #6

I don’t deny that there is still a bunch of content that was still in the works when Brink was released (ie may not have been fully tested and balanced) and that they now intend to release the content in future, paid, DLCs. So, I guess we agree.

EDIT:

I’m actually going to give you +1 rep for this post because it made me laugh.

(iezza) #7

i also wonder how many people read the last sentance of posts./

(Throbblefoot) #8

Man, I wish SD was paying Jimmy for all these posts. Then at least he’d be gainfully employed.

(tangoliber) #9

They aren’t going to make any money from the DLC and they know it. 99% of people that played Brink downloaded it for free. The money from future downloads just pays for the cost paying Sony/Microsoft to put it in their stores.

(Jimmy James) #10

Ooo, look! funsize’s 1 star went from red to green!

Good stuff,
JJ

EDIT:

Unless I’m mistaken, the only reason most of us even know about Splash Damage is because of Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory (I could be greatly mistaken) but my point is that this company built a fan base with a free title! Now it’s time for us to give some love back and keep them churning out the goodness.

(funsize) #11

Just let it go. This game is trash. Get a real job, jesus christ

(Jimmy James) #12

Don’t I need a fake job first? I’m unfamiliar with the rules.

-JJ

(MrFoxer) #13

Would you rather have no dlc at all?

(Throbblefoot) #14

I’m confused. Does this mean “Get a real job, because Savior isn’t a paying gig” or “Get a real job, <insert-interjection-here>”? Because I’ve tried the latter argument and it does nothing.

(thesuzukimethod) #15

my (optimistic) hope is that enough random folks who somehow didnt grab the dlc when it was free, or people who pick up the game new/used on the cheap plunk down the $10 more to get the dlc, and that enough do so to convince Bethesda of the viability of a second round of new maps. I will gladly give my $10 for another pair of maps…all we need is 19,999 more and they’d have financial reason to do so… one can hope, right?

LOL, it’s like the punctuation saves lives meme…

let’s eat, grandma!
vs.
let’s eat grandma!

i assume a transcription of a spoken phrase (the JC being an invective thrown in for effect) , but the comma leaves some indeterminacy embedded…well played FZ, however unintentionally…always keep em guessing.

(Throbblefoot) #17

There’s also an old joke about a panda who:
a) eats shoots and leaves.
or
b) eats, shoots, and leaves.
