Got the game but still doubting

Hi all, boys and girls

So let me explain my prob here. I tried the game month ago with a crappy pc and i obviously couldn’t play properly. Days passed, i got a new PC and saw that the outdated Nexon AC got replaced with a new one. So i thought it could be a good time to start again so as usual i started to look at different recent comment, diff source to see if it was worth the try and… it’s just a mess of people complaining about the game when it’s just incompatibility problem with Windows 10 or you got the usual guys talking about security violation blabla but hacker can still pass through blabla so yeah… Let’s just say that instead of searching around i could try asking you mods and members so i can at least have a direct answer.

Do you think it’s a good time to start playing now or should i try to wait for hum… a new matchmaking system were beginner are not allowed to go to a ranked match until they obtain a defined level or something else ? What do you guys think ?

Just go on and play. Nothing to keep you away.

Now’s as good as ever. Things aren’t perfect, but the game is still enjoyable.

Beginners aren’t allowed to play competitive until they reach level 5.
Were you reading Youtube comments or something?

Nah you just have to read like the steam review before having to wash your eyeballs with hot water ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

However i will have to see about this lvl 5 system, i mean some people might think im crazy but i value the 30 lvl double purpose grinder from league of legend (for example) while also hating the “never ban by ip” thing F2P title do… for me just seeing that you have only 5 level to gain makes me think that no matter what the user do (which include cheating, swearing or whatev is the flavor of the month) he can always come back with a new account, start again and cause chaos…or we can be a good lil puppy and arrive at lvl 5 with barely enough xp to gain some card or merc and be the next victim of Colonel 100 so he can unlock his bi pod for his knife (yes i am nerd).

But can’t say something before testing it and maybe it’s enough level for the grinder, we will see.

Still Im happily surprised by the speed and calm answers i got. Hope to see you ig folks.

If a person knows enough about how to get around AC, odds are they know how to mask/change their IP. IP bans are laughable. HWID bans are a bit different, but there are workarounds for that as well.

Basically the bans that most f2p games can place are ones that can be avoided or worked around. If someone really wants to hack, they’ll hack. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a single public f2p shooter that was entirely hack free.

If you’re brand new, stick to MAX level 5 rooms to learn the maps and a bit more about the game.

this also so far for me

Well at least i know… i mean if they weren’t IP banning in the first place there was a reason but at least now i know why.

As for the grinder to lvl 5 thing i wasn’t talking about being unsure of myself, being a long time fps player will help me learn quickly.
I was talking about a time consuming grinder which can serve as a nice learning curve for beginners as well as a “blocking” system forcing people to grind again if they ended up having an account blocked meaning they were “losing” something when they got it blocked in the first place. A lot of f2p seems to forget about it or they just ignore it for money sake. Sad era to be in indeed.

My humble opinion after playing since the closed beta is that the best time to start was during the closed beta.

After that, we got the open beta with a huge afflux of new players, along with a whole lot of cheaters in an AC that wasn’t fit to handle them.

Now we got a new AC, but the community size has dwindled and there are two types of players you’ll find. Old time players with a lot of experience and super recent newcomers. In the middle players are few.

This leaves matches at the mercy of this huge skill gap and if the balancing isn’t just right, most likely your game is going to suck. Either you’ll be getting stomped or you’ll be in a game without a shred of challenge.

As a newcomer you’ll have trouble keeping up and might get frustrated. If you do start playing, I strongly recommend you do the tutorial first. Then, stick to the MAX level 5 servers until you get accustomed to the maps and the mercs you own and those that are on rotation.

Once you hit level 5, stick to objective and try out stopwatch if you feel motivated to stick it out on possibly long duration unbalanced games.

I definitely don’t recommend competitive if you don’t play with at least 3 more friends. And even then, matchmaking is not there yet.

Now what you do got going for you if you start now, is the huge amount of mercs to unlock and hence the motivation to regularly do the proposed missions (every three hours) to gain cash and unlock them. Also trying them out and learning each class until you master them is fun.

But remember, many games will be completely unbalanced and it’s a reality you’ll have to live with. Nevertheless, the different mercs and the fast gameplay might be just the thing you’re looking for.

I also need to disclose the fact that there are quite a few bugs running around that need fixing, but overall you’ll be able to play fine.

Windows 10 compatibility is not an issue. I myself run it just fine.

There is the occasional kick to desktop which happens when the AC crashes. Nothing to do about that until they fix it somehow.

So all in all, there is fun to be found in DB right now, but know that you can also find a lot of frustration.

Oh lord… stop thinking and just play. There’s a decent game hiding in there. Buy an objective specialist and Sawbonez for maximum team win.

Fixed that for you
You’d be surprised how few teams have committed objective runners.
