Got sent to main menu from nothing?

(Kagarosh) #1

So i was playing with my friends a casual game , then suddenly i woke up in the main menu , first time i thought it was a votekick but neither me or my friends saw any votekick call. It’s very annoying that every game i play i get sent back to the main menu not even playing 5 mins. Tried reinstalling the game , windows , but didnt work. Help…

Happens when your internet is inconsistent. I’ve noticed if you disconnect and your computer automatically switches to another network, you’ll get kicked from the server. But sometimes it happens without even switching networks.

I have that happen occasionally, but never every single game

Happened to me yesterday…twice on stockholm server.

Interesting observation was that there was one slot free on the server when I finally joined and every single player that joined the game was kicked in couple of seconds.

I dont think this has got something to do with the client but rsther server side issue.

Tried swiching from Eu-East to NA , same problem…

Probably an issue with your internet then. There are lots of things that can cause players to be disconnected randomly though.

Do you use wifi or ethernet? Is there a chance one could be getting disconnected, even for a short amount of time?

Yeah, I’ve had that happen before. Only a couple times though. I don’t think it’s related to OP’s comment though. More like the server just randomly exploding or SD disconnecting it for maintenance.

I used ethernet since i started playing (40h total) and if it was from my internet i would’ve get disconnected during all my gametime but i’ve only experienced this problem after 35h of gametime. Thought that might be swiching between wifi and cable but i did not even connect to wifi ( +typing the password). I’ll try to stop and start again the main router, maybe the refresh could do something.

Idk, like I said there are lots of things that cause it.
I use wifi with a range extender. The range extender network gets better reception in my room, but tends to disconnect randomly every so often, and my PC automatically connects onto the original wifi network while it waits for the range extender to get it’s stuff together. Works well for me with everything else, but DB always disconnects me whenever it happens.
From my experience, DB doesn’t seem to outright kick a player when they just loose connection for a few seconds, only when they switch networks (it’ll just freeze you in the “Disconnected” screen). So if your computer isn’t trying to connect to a new one, then it’s probably some other issue.

Have you tried filing a support ticket? I can’t really think of what else it might be.

it means the server handle got lost and it has defaulted you back to where you have control of the next step.

Your router could be suffering from hiccups

Do i have to keep firewall off or on?

Just allow the ports required by the game to be open. You don’t need to turn it off

if this game came from EA origins like BF4 which the data can only be downloaded/uploaded if all the port in router are open or on safe mode with only 1 specific port are open.

i dont think DB needed manually opening port because it has never happened to me like EA origins crap games.

I have the same problem, not only me tho, I saw players “leave” at exact moment as I was being kicked previously.

  1. Join server - server browser
  2. Countdown finished
  3. Instead of loading map - goes back to main menu.

When I was playing with my friend, after the countdown he just disappeared from the players’ list and told me he got kicked back to main menu.

Another match:
We got kicked to main menu in exact same time, where we were supposed to get map loading screen.
When we tried to rejoin (7v7 stopwatch was full at that moment). We noticed there were only 8 people on the server, rejoin led us to main menu once again.

Yeah, stockholm server often does that.

hmm looks like a router refresh and enabling firewall solved the problem

Check the integrity of game files on steam.
That did the trick for a mate, and also check EAC and its firewall parameters.
You might get kicked because you did not send answer packets to EAC server.
