Okay so here is a little bit of back story, I was modding my Fallout New Vegas and couldn’t get my enb to work so I tried using the enb injector. After being unsuccessful, I just said screw it and started to play some Dirty Bomb. I was unaware that my enb injector was still running I had minimized it and completely forgot about it. I loaded up the game and got an error, I didn’t think much of it because I had received the same error without my enb injector on. So, I go to play Dirty Bomb today and it says I was permanently banned for using third party software while playing Dirty Bomb. I sent an email to their support team making it clear I wasn’t trying to cheat they told me: “Due to the nature of this situation, I am sorry to inform you that I will not be able to release your account. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you.” I disagree with this because their security system found something on my computer that has nothing to do with their game and I get permanently banned for it. I’m really upset and want to play this game. Do you think I deserved to get banned?
Got banned for having my enb injector running while playing Dirty Bomb.
This is the new, “my little brother did it” excuse so it’s not exactly going to win you any points.
I’ll move this to the tech support section in case they have any other info.

I never gave you an excuse just the honest truth.

Don’t do that dude. I’ve had the pleasure of being the first player to ever have been unbanned on APB Reloaded after going through a few weeks of mods and devs with your attitude, and these kind of comments are hugely inflammatory.
Be professional and don’t take either stance. Maybe he hacked, maybe he didn’t, but he definitely deserves to be heard, even though I have zero hopes of devs taking time to figure this out, or the anti-cheat tool to have any means of recording what -exactly- happened so that the problem could be reproduced (thus proving innocence).

Thank you, I really hope this gets a second look but with the responses I’ve been seeing I don’t think I’m gonna get unbanned.

Why should you have any opinion on what he did? You don’t know for sure he hacked so why does it sound like you think he did? The least you could do is not be a douche and just try to figure out if you could help him not act like a dick . If the same thing happened to you you wouldn’t want someone pissing you off more than you already are after getting banned.

Ironically, Amerika made his comment based on previous experience with people and cheating and applied the same reasoning (see the VAC forums on steam for endless entertainment). Other posters have taken their bad prior experiences with mods and assume Amerika is another jerk mod (he’s not–still awaiting confirmation from his mom).
Based on my 15 plus years in competitive gaming and work as a league admin and anti-cheat admin, 99.9% of the players cheating have an excuse and lie. I dont think his response is unreasonable. However, when you make a post to plead your case on a public forum, you really open yourself up to whatever criticisms come your way. That is reality.
Now, I would suggest people read the stickies going forward so they A.) know where to submit appropriate grievances and B.) they will know what applications may trigger a ban by the anti-cheat. While this post never should have been made in the first place, it should have been posted in tech support based on the nature of the issue (i.e., software triggering a ban).
People are so fed up with cheaters, can you blame people for not replying “Aww, sorry to hear that, come on over for a hug and we’ll make it all right”?
Still the problem is, they are banning without warning, nothing about enb in this tos ( http://www.nexon.net/legal/terms-of-use/ ), at least I don’t see anything? And no, not everyone looks into this forums, before they got a problem.
Not to forget, enb is used for mods of games quite a few years old, but still beeing played by many times the playercount of dirty-bomb. Skyrim, as the probably biggest of them, alone has 30k players a day. Add all the smaller games on top, and you are probably looking at 15times the playercount of dirtybomb.
Plus, banning enb seems really have helped vs. the cheaters, still dancing on our feets every day.
To be honest, if I was banned for this and the support didn’t help, I’d see to it, that I got my money back from Valve (as long as I am right and there is no warning about enb in the tos/tou).

I didn’t offer up an opinion, my own or anybody elses, on what he did. I stated that it’s a commonly used excuse which isn’t going to help him when he goes to try and get his account back. I moved the thread to tech support in case they could actually help them or new more about false positives in regards to this issue.

I understand what youre saying. VAC also bans without warning. And false positives do occur–they are rare, but not unheard of. While there are plenty of programs on their lists that have legitimate uses, never underestimate the creativity some individuals demonstrate the get an edge. I remember when I interviewed Tony Ray from Evenbalance years ago, the same issues were at the forefront then as they are today.
I still think the VAC forums are great!
Which would be a reason to ban any modern mouse-/gaming-software. You simply shouldn’t be banning for the sole possibility of misuse.
Netlimiter is banned, afaik, but torrent and other downloads are ok, same as hardwarew-sided bad connection. All do the same, yet the one program is banned, even if it is not interacting with the game’s traffic at the time of playing.
Same goes for the injector-programs. Don’t you think the real cheaters easily change(d) the injector they are using, after enb got banned? It isn’t like they got nearly ten years of experience with this engine…
No, what you should do, is check your program for changes made in the memory, known hacks, recurring inputs beeing precise to the milisecond, and if the traffic on the clientside is clean, or has much packetloss an/or a to high ping.
Not even talking about locking some client-side commands…
“Based on my 15 plus years in competitive gaming and work as a league admin and anti-cheat admin, 99.9% of the players cheating have an excuse and lie.”
And this is why I’m screwed.

Presumably, yes. They aren’t likely to reverse a ban based on what someone says (as mentioned before, too many liars), and the only thing that might have it lifted is when for some reason this specific program is brought to light because either it triggers too many bans, or someone they can be sure is legitimate receives a ban (think or streamers and the likes). Then there’s the question if they recorded specific fingerprints for the alleged hack, and if they’d be able to revert all bans given with that fingerprint. Lots of “ifs”.
Well, why should NGsh*t ban anyway? Isn’t just kicking suspect players good enough?
We already know NGS sucks really bad, and it’s not like he attached to the DB process anyway.
