Goodbye!!! A Big Wet Kiss On Your Mouth Inc.

(FireFly) #1

After nine years of creating maps for w:et I’ve decided to end my mapping career…

Creating a map from scratch to finish requires an incredible amount of work, patience, frustration and dedication… Unfortunally It seems that I no longer have the time, nor patience or dedication and all that remains is the frustration.

When you reach that point it is time to quit.

I’d like to thank everyone who helped out over the several past years: teams, server admins, individual players and fellow mappers: you all know who you are.

I particular would like to thank mrFin, Magic, Ifurita, Detoeni and MudH for their friendship & support.

The www.wolfplayer.nl site will remain online until 25-12-2011

For the past 9 years I have always used the name “FlyOnFire” when playing w:et online…

You can find me on the “kernwaffe.deNQNo1” server almost everyday from 21.30 until 23.00 hours ( European Time)

Happy Hunting

Thanks for great maps and community support. My favorite is Tramfight.

Thanks for the hard work you spent over years!

I have a question to yuo, firefly:
Am I allowed to mirror your site to the Splatterladder server, to keep your work online even after Dec. 25th?

Unfortunality I haven`t found a mail adress of you where I could explain my plans to you.

Please contect me over schnoog @ splatterladder . eu , so I`m able to discover my plans to you

Regards
Schnoog

It is really sad to see such a talent leaving, but we all have to thank you for your great maps and understand that you’ve reached a point where you can’t spent that much time into mapping anymore.

Your work will always be a reason for people to start with mapping! Thank you for the 9 years you shared with the community. Now it’s time to move on. Good luck, mate!!

Best Regards
KeMoN

FireFly, it’s said that you decide to stop, but when I think of it, you did make some awesome contributions.

Since you allowed me to publish your work under Creative Commons Share Alike, I will make sure that it finds its way to the ET-XreaL project, and that it will not be for nothing. Your maps will be added to the stock maps available to all players. I hope you get the change to check ETX when your maps are in it.

Good luck with everything, and if you have anything else to contribute, let me know.

PS .Detoeni made it explicitly clear that he does not want his work to be distributed under the CC-BY-SA license, so it will be stripped from the versions. I understand it’s a little weird to mention that now, but he should not fear that I neglect his rights, connected to your work.

Firefly, I remember you from the start… but trust… let’s “never say never” again… Instead let’s just say “Til were back again…”

(ducks) #16

I gave up mapping twice

…it didn’t work.

(DerSaidin) #17

Thanks for making some of the most beautiful maps in ET
GL HF with whatever is next - even if it is also mapping as ducks suggests

I hope you decide to keep the site up, or let someone mirror it.
