Good Job SD
Alberto, morguen87: I can understand being disappointed, but please don’t rain on anyone elses parade for liking, enjoying and having fun with the game. Some people do genuinely enjoy playing Brink, so let them have fun with it, it’s good that people are getting something from Brink, so please don’t try come on to a thread that’s genuinely praising the game with the sole intent of lowering the tone and starting an argument.

Patriot that’s some play time you have there, good stuff :)
I understand your point but i would have fun with the game too
This thead is a joke toward who’s trying to play the game and finds it impossible…

(Patriotqube) #22

@morguen87
example
So if you like your wife/girlfriend, and a 100 other people dosent, then you have to start explaining why you like her instead of just accepting the fact, that we aint all alike?

@Alberto
Well im sorry you cant find a decent game mate, but thats not my fault and its not the devs fault either
And this thread was ment to show to SD that there are still someone that plays the game and patiently are waiting for them to fix the issues and deliver the DLC, wasnt ment as an insult to anyone.

@DarkangelUK
Yeah as i said i like it :), Ive been playing W:ET since its release, no game whatsoever has been able to drag me away from that, not even ET:QW, but 2 months after Brinks release i discovered that i hasnt played W:ET seriously since its release. just logging on for checking our servers.

Oh… it’s not devs fault? So maybe it’s mine that i paid a dead game?!
Cmon dude you leak in impartiality

and btw there are stats that show sd how many players play their game.

http://store.steampowered.com/stats/

Your thread sound as a joke toward other disappointed customers.

(Crytiqal) #24

How long can you keep kicking a dead horse?

I mean, we know this game isn’t up to par, and there have beent rants for 2 months now.

I’ve moved on long time ago, and SD employees are people too and I can imagine is pretty frustrating to read a new hate thread and 100+ hate posts EVERY day, while they are trying to fix stuff.
It would demotivate me, that’s for sure.

So, in short, if the OP likes the game and wants to show that to the devs (like so many people have shown their dissatifaction) then let him.

It’s not like SD are reading his posts solely, then think, ow we did a great job anyway so lets stop patching, cause they will continue to patch, only with a bigger motivation.

2 cents

(alberto) #25

if he wants to show that he loves them, he appreciates brink, he can write a private message to badman, for example.

Otherwise if he opens a PUBLIC topic, then he has to expect to be exposed to PUBLIC ridicule.

PS: IF sd guys are frustrated, they could start to answer people. At least we paid them and we are frustrated too. We own a copy of a unplayable and unsaleable game.

(Patriotqube) #26

So if would say i hate this game it would be ok to state that in a thread?
but stating the opposite would have to be in a PM or the hatepolice will take actions and demand me to stop such fooliness?

How can it be devs fault that you apparently dont have any servers with a nice ping for you to connect to? and dont give me crap about game is dead and bla bla

Do as others do, rent a server, get it located in Italy and if there is enough ppl somewhere near you theyll probatly join in on it.

yes i know all about whats wrong with the game, ive been playing it alot, ive also expressed my suggestions to the game in previous posts, thats stil dont take the joy of game from me.

Was that clear enough?

PS. Ive been playing with US ppl on European servers in W:ET for several years i never heard them complain about 150 ping, ive been playing on US Server in W:ET and BRINK with 150 ping and i cant hardly feel the difference. so maybe try give it a go?

(alberto) #27

no, in fact those threads are closed and people banned.

Public threads have to be objective, not subjective or they are basically private.
So this is the wrong place to open them.

(Patriotqube) #28

Shame on me then

Well then il suspect theyll close this one also an ban me, well im pretty sure il survive that

(Kurushi) #29

Don’t worry about the haters lol, it’s how they get their kicks… Good to see a positive thread from a fellow Brink fan

(Apples) #30

I’m still wondering where were the haters during the whole construction of Brink? Did they even read the news before buying the game? did they participate to the forums? in short, No for most of them. Now I understand this game is far from perfect, but maybe next time you’ll look closer or wait a bit before buying blindly a product based on what… oh yes, based on what the creators of said product told you

If you guyz arent smart enough to understand some basics into marketing techniques and capitalism in general then the only one to blame are yourselves…

Now its time to crawl back into your mom’s basement, suck your $50 up and go cry on another forum when you’ll preorder (again) another crappy port and be disapointed by it (again).

Bye

@OP : Glad you enjoy the game, I was wondering for ages if I buy it or not, and I like small communities, but there it really seems too small for my tastes  Maybe when the game will be like 15€ I’ll get it for the fun.

Peace
As topic says.

The game has gotten to me, and i really enjoy playing it.

Atm im working on a Med Character and are spending most of my time running behind the soldier/engy/operative that are going for obj. enjoyable when we succeeds hacking somthing. so gg

and yeah i still have stuff i would like changed, but i can see SD are on about it, and just wanted to tell, that I like the game and I am not likely to dismiss in the near future

so GG and Well done
ahhh, i almost forgot about THIS type of players.

if i tell my 5 years old kid to draw a pic and show it to Patriotqube — then he will say “Oh my, it’s Picasso !!!”

And he will be Deadly Serious.

It’s amazing that you like Brink, well, it’s phenomen but such stuff happens as well. Well, i call it no taste.

(.Chris.) #32

It was very clear what style of game it was going to be from all the trailers and such, if folk were expecting something else then…

The bugs and ‘missing’ features on the other hand were totally unexpected and sadly it over shadows what is otherwise an fairly entertaining game.

(Patriotqube) #33

Does this mean we wont be good friends? :frowning:

about my taste, i dont like Cod, BF etc etc either, but i like WET and BRINK… come to think of it your absolutely right /sarcasm intended

(.FROST.) #34
The game was designed with only 2 gimmicks in mind. Instead of adding things to a balanced team based objective shooter they tried to add a team based objective shooter to an interesting, but poorly implemented smart system and a system that let you dress up characters like dolls. They spent so much time letting players dress up their character like Post-Apocolyptic-Ken they forgot to add the team based objective shooter til the last minute. As a result, we got a half assed game that lets you play Barbie.
I like my “Post-Apocolyptic-Ken” but not for the expense of the stuff you’ve mentioned. Want to say, you are right. I’m a comicbook fan, but not a cartoon fan. Thats why I like Brink’s aesthtic but not so much that of Team Fortress 2. Its too cartoony. So I’ve never played it. Brink’s chars and weapons look like they are out of a Greg Capullo comic. Thats why I bought Brink. Its not as boring “realistic” as all the modern warfare stuff and not as cartoony as TF2. Exactly my cup of tea.

But the fact that Brink has only one gameplay mode in MP(Stopwatch doesn’t count as an additional mode for me) should be a huge warning for everyone who’s striving for diversity and
longevity in a game. Brink feels like a giant “white mouse in a maze test”. How many times will one play the same missions over and over again till he quits, seems to be the question in this great test.

The big test is nearing its end with only a couple hundred mice left in the virtual maze. Time for a new maze SD.

Find a new argument…because this one is TERRIBLE. I don’t even want to counter it because It’s been destroyed like 1000 times already on this forum and I don’t feel like repeating myself.

(Stormchild) #36

I just wanted to add that despite having some gripes on particular gamedesign/gameplay choices, I still get loads of fun with this game. And I’m not about to let it go away too, especially because I am far from having explored all map possibilities (don’t play often as lightbody), and new maps are coming.
While I regret things from ETQW, I also regretted things from Wolf:ET when going to ETQW… but some new things were brought in too, and the game is just different. It brings me fun and I hope it can get even better. As for the gamedesign “flaws”, I trust the next game will be more careful.

So, see you in-game !

the problem, mr, is that i followed the game for 3 years now and they promised alot of things. I don’t find those things in brink. Have you ever read what richard “rahdo” ham said in crossfire.nu forums? Probably NOT. And still probably, the one misinformed is you?

And about marketing, i do understand something (read here) and there is no marketing in trying to sell a broken game. Internet is information. Everyone knows how is brink and you won’t force people to buy it even if u spend a million of euros to advertise the game. Not if the game is in this condition.
You made this thread solely based on your opinion, how can you say “I made my point and have no intention to get into arguments with ppl of other opinions…”?

Would you rather just have everyone agree with you?
If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all. This philosophy is especially true in this thread since the post was never meant to start an argument or debate - it was simply a statement. It’s one of those threads where if you don’t agree with him, you shouldn’t even post because the thread isn’t for you or people with your opinion. It is an appreciation thread. If you don’t appreciate it, don’t post.

He really doesn’t care if you don’t agree with him, regardless of all the stats, graphs and pie charts you have explaining why Brink is a “bad” game and why nobody should like it. I also enjoy the game. I acknowledge its flaws but don’t find them significant enough to ruin my fun.

Art is inherently subjective. The same can be said video games since they are, in one way or another, a form of art. Some people like certain games, others don’t - even absolutely abysmal games have fans.
I dont know what system you are playing on, but on PC i can get fights against humans every day

our servers has some people on them from time to time as you can see below. i dont prefer playing bots tbh, only playing against them while server is filling up with humans
i find myself on the qube server a fair bit  in the UK one.

but i dont get lots of servers when i search for <100 ping, >8 players. i tend to be limited to one of 10 servers.

bad example since Picasso art does look like a child drew it.
