Gold / Cobalt loadout-cards useless or what?

(Sgt) #1

So I just traded in some of my gold-cards for a cobalt-card, hoping that I would get something great out of it.
What I did end up getting was 3 useless perks (for that class) and the worst gun (I might aswell just use the standard loadout since it has a better weapon and perks on my Cobalt are useless pared with the merc).

My question: Are there any reason to aim for cobalt-cards at all? If there is not then why on earth have grades on cards like that?

(neverplayseriou) #2

Theyre for the people that wanna look different

(Sgt) #3

In other words it’s a huge waste buying / trading up?

(tropicalDirector) #4

Mostly.

(ttownjoe) #5

yup they are completely useless, there is no point to them at all unfortunately. They want us to spend money for nothing but a slight change in the tint of color on the character

(Sgt) #6

It really is… Especially when you think it’s a better card with, hopefully, upgraded weapons / higher tiered perks etc…

(Eox) #7

That’s the beauty of the system : Silver, Gold and Cobalts will change how you look. Don’t expect better augments. This is actually explained on every case’s description (rarer bling but same loadouts). Why is it like this ? Simply both for balance and “not being a pay to win” reasons.

There’s no point to going above bronze. If you still feel like going higher ( like I do) keep the loadout you want in bronze and go ahead and trade up some different cards for it, hoping that RNGesus loves you enough.

I mean the first Cobalt I got it was a Fragger with BR… Then RNGesus said he forgives me for my sins and gave Cobalt Phantom with Kek/Katana/Chopper, which is the absolute, handsdown best loadout for him if you wanna go hack&slash phantom.

Edit: But it’s not like I still wasn’t using the exact same Phantom loadout as Bronze, all I got from this is a Blue Phantom with the exact playstyle I wanted.

You should have read the description that comes with every case ever. Everything above bronze loadout cards is purely for aesthetic purposes.

(gg2ez) #10

Their purpose is to make you feel special when you get the 0.1% of Cobalt from free cases and a sexy Cobalt Nader with Crotzni and +10% Blast Radius augment.

Cobalts make you look friendly to the enemy team.

(Gh0st1e) #12

It’s pretty obvious who is friendly and who isn’t regardless of the color.

Not from a distance and for the un-initiated

(InfernoKun) #14

I just feel the need to get Gold and Cobalt. Gold guns, so pretty.

(gg2ez) #15

Gold guns are ugly af. Cobalts makin’ me feel fancy.

(neverplayseriou) #16

@gg2ez gold guns are pretty or atleast the red/black/white camo ones :stuck_out_tongue:

(gg2ez) #17

What about the sketchy green one? Yuck-e.

(Zerlathon) #18

Anything above bronze is purely aesthetic. I like it that way tbh, buy your ideal loadouts for the respective mercs for 17500 creds and you’ll be no worse off then the person using a cobalt.

All of my gold loadouts are Bamboo :frowning:

Poor guy. Hopefully SD implement a way to customise cosmetics soon.

(Meanwhile on Underground with my full hand of Cobalt card, All digital cyan and blue weapons with optimal augments, 2 opened from free cases.
