there have been a few topics on this already but i wanna ask again as it has not come up for a while. I am currently downloading Gmax because i want to make some complex stuff for my next map. However i often find with stuff like this that making an object in a 3d program is only half the task and often getting it to work in the game is the hard bit so does anyone here use gmax and tempest to make game models for ET and is it easy to get the models from gmax into radiant and then in the game?

i don’t know a lot about it but you must have a md3 model…
or prefab ----> .map

I use 3dMax for creating the models I need for my current map. It’s really not that difficult although it is a time consuming process.
You have to :
-create the model
-animate the model (if needed)
-UV map the model
-Create textures
-assign the textures or shaders to the model (most people seem to have alot of problems wth this one!)
-convert/save it to an md3
There’s one free program I really recommend as it can save you alot of headache and trouble; it’s called MD3Compile ( use it for the last two steps)
