Glitching texture/character model?

(Vines) #1

Has anyone else experienced the character models glitching? What my problem is the character wrists in the bottom of the screen glitch sort of flicker. Now matter what texture settings I have or config I use. Even on default setting. This is the first I’ve noticed of the problem.

Here is a video of it I made (low fps due to fraps, and it actually slowed the glitching down it’s a lot quicker on a higher FPS) http://www.xfire.com/video/46f387/ . I have an ATI card and I know they have had issues (I am updated to the latest driver with the brink hotfix).

Happens playing both single and multiplayer.

Are you using a custom config or a 3rd-party plugin to change any settings?

It does the same thing on mine too. I only noticed it when I changed my fov to 90 since then I could see more of my character’s arm in the game then. fwiw, I have an ATI 5770.

Yup, this is because you have changed the ui_fov cvar from the default (70).

The use of the developer console is unsupported and done entirely at your own risk.

You’re free to change the fov if you like, but you will see odd behaviour like this in the gunarms because they were created specifically for the default field of view.

I thought it might an FOV issue, but when I reverted back to the default the issuer remained although less noticeable due to less of the arm being show but it was clearly there.

I tired to uninstall, then reinstall but it kept my settings all the same when it was reinstalled the issue remained.

Does it not cross your mind that people are using the command console due to the fact you released a broken game? How about instead of stating the obvious you give some proper suggestions or an actual fix for once this week

Wow dude calm down. Yeah the game was rushed, and currently alternate FOVs aren’t supported 100%. They’re working on patches (a “broken game” is gonna take some time so they’ll get back to you on the whole “this week” thing), we’ll see if they address this.

Use your brain, it’s not like he’s at liberty to say whatever he wants, he’s a business man with rules as to what he’s allowed to say. Welcome to running a business in real life dude. At least he’s posting on the forums trying to clear a few things up. Some people appreciate his input, he’s doing what he can at the moment.
